JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking to hire two Postdoctoral Research Associates through the Northeastern University&ndash;Moderna Academic&ndash;Industrial Fellowship Program. The Postdoctoral Fellows will support efforts in either Pharmacometrics (PMx) or Quantitative Systems Pharmacology (QSP). Both fellows will be embedded within Moderna&rsquo;s Clinical and Quantitative Pharmacology (CQP) function and will contribute to key modeling and simulation deliverables for drug candidates across early and late stages of clinical development, spanning multiple therapeutic modalities. The Fellows will support project leads at Moderna by evaluating and implementing model-informed drug development (MIDD) strategies, including population PK/PD, exposure&ndash;response, and mechanistic systems modeling approaches. They will collaborate closely with cross-functional partners within CQP and across the broader development organization, applying deep domain knowledge and advanced quantitative methods to inform critical development decisions. At Northeastern University, the Fellows will engage in scientific publication, conference presentations, and mentoring of junior trainees within the academic laboratory environment.
Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to develop and deliver clear, concise, and scientifically rigorous presentations for both internal and external audiences. A record of publication in pharmacometrics and/or QSP is highly desirable. Fellows will have opportunities to author manuscripts, present posters and talks at national and international scientific conferences and participate in other professional development activities throughout the fellowship.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Pharmacometrics (PMx) Candidate
<ul><li>PhD in pharmacometrics, pharmacokinetics, pharmacology, pharmaceutics, or a closely related field.
</li><li>Demonstrated hands-on proficiency with pharmacometrics and modeling tools, including but not limited to: NONMEM, Monolix, R, nlmixr2, Phoenix
</li><li>Strong understanding of pharmacometrics principles and application of modeling and simulation (M&amp;S) strategies to support: PK/PD analyses, Exposure&ndash;response characterization, Dose selection and optimization
</li><li>Evidence of scientific engagement and emerging thought leadership in Quantitative Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacometrics.
</li></ul>Quantitative Systems Pharmacology (QSP) Candidate
<ul><li>PhD in applied mathematics, mathematical biology, chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, physics, systems pharmacology, or related quantitative discipline.
</li><li>Strong experience in mathematical modeling and simulation, with formal training or demonstrated experience in: Quantitative Systems Pharmacology or differential equation&ndash;based mechanistic modeling
</li><li>Ability to translate biological hypotheses into mathematical frameworks and to integrate biological, pharmacological, and clinical data.
</li><li>Excellent scientific communication skills, with the ability to convey complex modeling concepts to non-modeling audiences.
</li><li>Proficiency in at least one modeling and programming environment, such as: MATLAB, R, or Julia
</li></ul>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES &amp; ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Conduct pharmacometrics and quantitative systems pharmacology analyses.
Prepare reports and supporting manuscript submissions.
Mentor and train laboratory personnel.

Expected Hiring Range:
$60,315.00 - $85,192.50

Job Summary
We invite applications for Part-time Lecturer (PTL) positions at the graduate level. We seek a colleague with an interest in teaching the BIOT 5830 - Regulatory Landscape of Cell and Gene Therapies for the Cell and Gene Therapy Master&rsquo;s Programs, depending on program needs and enrollment. The course introduces the current state of regulatory approvals for cell and gene therapies, with a focus on scientific and technical considerations for approval in the United States, Europe, and other key global markets. It explores scientific challenges in the regulatory approval process, differences from traditional biotherapeutic approvals, and evolving pathways emphasizing quality, efficacy, and safety throughout the product lifecycle, from manufacturing to commercialization.
Key Responsibilities
The Part-time Lecturer will review and learn key teaching points within existing materials, prepare and deliver lectures based on provided course content, and facilitate in-person or online class discussions that encourage active learning and respectful debate. They will guide students through case studies and real-world examples in regulatory approval, provide timely feedback, grading, and coaching to support student learning, and maintain consistent engagement with students regarding their performance and progress. In addition, the instructor will adhere to Northeastern University policies and program standards.
Part-time instructors work under the direction of the program director and will hold office hours as appropriate.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will hold a Ph.D. or equivalent graduate degree in a closely related field, with at least five years of work experience in biotechnology, biopharma, or a related industry. Proven presentation and instructional platform skills are required, along with an open and supportive professional style and willingness to receive assistance and coaching from faculty when needed.
Prior experience in a diverse higher education institution is preferred.
