Job Title: TellerLocation: WashburnReports To: Branch SupervisorFLSA Exemption Status: Non-exemptJob Summary: Accurately service customers&rsquo; transactions including withdrawals, deposits, payments, and purchases. Maintain accurate balance in teller window by balancing cash at the beginning and end of the day at any window. Verify totals on various bank products, proof, etc.Duties/Responsibilities:o Accurately balance cash at work stationo Balance cash in window to start and finish daily work and at balancing timeo Complete deposit and withdrawal transactions for customerso Verify all cash that customers bring to windowo Count customers&rsquo; loose coin in coin countero Receive and disburse Canadian money; accurately figuring out discounto Cash customers&rsquo; checkso Accept customers&rsquo; loan payments and payoffs; accurately calculate payoffs as requestedo Balance vaulto Complete change orders for businesses. Use vault computer for buying and selling money.o Verify other tellers&rsquo; cash and put in vault.Performance Expectations: Maintain an accurate cash drawer with limited variations. Respond to customers&rsquo; inquiries in a timely and friendly manner. Completely follow through on all transactions and activities. Acknowledge and greet customers upon arrival to lobby or teller window.o Provide exceptional customer supporto Prepare bank money orders for customerso Cash savings bonds for customerso Sell personal money orders/cashier&rsquo;s checkso Accept payments for safe deposit boxeso Cross-sell bank products and servicesPerformance Expectations: Accurately conduct customers&rsquo; transactions. Respond to customers&rsquo; inquiries in a timely and friendly manner. Complete transaction thoroughly including accurate recording of any documentation. Follow through on all communications and transactions.o Maintain accurate records for customers and the banko Update savings booko Verify all night drop bag contents and mail receipt to customerso Operate teller imager/scannero Run coin in machine and roll either by hand or machine. Tray coin.o Complete file maintenance of address and phone number changes, driver&rsquo;s license updates, etc.o Complete paperwork and computer part of updating customer requests for higher debit card limits for ATM &amp; purchase either temporary or existing time periods.Performance Expectations: Accurately record transactions. File information in appropriate location. Complete bank documents accurately for task. Follow through on all transactions and communications.Daily Responsibilitieso Take check orders/process check orders, use printer/stitcher/cutter. Order check supplies, etc. Monthly reports.o Authorized signer to issue checks for the Brick Account. Write checks/balance checkbooks. Backup for Customer Service &amp; Accounts Payable.o Knowledge of Receptionist duties.o Open bank accounts for customers&mdash;business and personal. Open safe deposit boxes/trusts, estate, etc.o Asset verification online programo Social Security Administration online verification programo Balance the branches/end of day balancingo Balance out money orders/cashier&rsquo;s checks, loan checks, etc.o Performs other duties as assigned which may include but are not limited to:<ul><li>Filing and collating</li><li>Answering the phones</li><li>Shredding confidential items</li><li>Light housekeeping/maintenance</li><li>Prepare and deliver daily work to Auto Bank night depository</li><li>Provide occasional teller staffing coverage at other branches, when needed</li></ul>Required Skills/Abilities:&middot; Solid problem-solving skills and decision-making skills to address challenges and make timely, informed decisions&middot; Excellent verbal and written communication skills.&middot; Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.&middot; Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.&middot; Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.&middot; Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.Education and Experience:&middot; High school diploma, GED, or equivalent&middot; Experience working as a teller, retail sales, or customer service position preferred, but not required.Physical Requirements: Note: Never/Seldom = less than 15% of work timeOccasional = 15% - 49% of work timeFrequent = 50% - 74% of work timeContinuous = 75% - 100% of work time&middot; Frequent periods of walking and standing&middot; Occasional sitting at a desk&middot; Seldom movements of lifting, climbing, pushing/pulling of objects, and working in a confined spaceNorthern State Bank is an equal opportunity employer.
