Job Description:</b><br>
<div>
The Benefits Assistant will provide administrative support to the Benefits Team. They will be responsible for providing a high level of customer service to visitors, applicants, staff and faculty.<br>
<br>
The Benefits Assistant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:</div>
<ul><li>Assigning tickets to the appropriate benefits team member</li>
<li>Scan and electronically file benefits documentation</li>
<li>Send new hire notices</li>
<li>Coordinating logistics for vendor events, benefits fairs, and NOVAGives initiatives</li>
<li>Drafting and sending articles to the Daily Flyer on benefits topics and events</li>
<li>Other administrative support as needed</li>
</ul></div><b>Minimum Qualifications:</b><br>

KSAs:</b></div><ul>
<li>Knowledge and ability to navigate the internet and use standard office computer systems</li>
<li>Excellent accuracy and attention to detail</li>
<li>Ability to accurately interpret state policy</li>
<li>Ability to build collaborative and mutually beneficial working relationships with people of varying backgrounds</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize daily activities</li>
<li>Ability to communicate effectively, both in written and oral formats</li>
<li>Ability to work efficiently and effectively with co-workers, colleagues across the College and general public</li>
<li>Strong organizational and time management skills</li>
<li>Working knowledge of PeopleSoft.</li>
<li>Ability to manage confidential information and sensitive situations</li>
</ul><div><b>Required Qualifications:</b></div><ul>
<li>Some general office experience.</li>
<li>Some experience in customer service.</li>
<li>Some experience in MS office.</li>

<li>Some experience in benefits administration to include demonstrated knowledge of COBRA, HIPAA laws, family and medical leave, workers&rsquo; compensation, and tax-deferred annuity plans laws and regulations.</li>
