Northwood School District

The Northwood School District is seeking a temporary and part-time Payroll/HR Assistant to oversee the district&rsquo;s payroll operations along with Human Resources duties. This position will work approximately 320 to 400 hours per fiscal year. These hours could be increased with additional duties as determined by the district. Remote work opportunities.Primary responsibilities include:&middot; Performing payroll duties, overseeing related financial reporting, and ensuring adherence to accounting procedures.&middot; Assisting with Human Resource duties such as employee onboarding, preparing and filing Form 941s, processing W-2s, managing Affordable Care Act (ACA) reporting, and handling Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) contributions, workers&rsquo; compensation processes, and assisting with specific records requests as needed.&middot; Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding financial and administrative practices.&middot; Collaborating with other district departments regarding financial operations.&middot; Coordinating with auditors and ensuring timely and accurate completion of audits.The successful candidate will work closely with a collaborative administration team located within the centralized 3K-12 district building, which also features a daycare available to both employees and community members.The Northwood School District is located in beautiful northern Wisconsin. We have approximately 350 inquisitive students, a dedicated staff, and a supportive community. Our district is roughly 400 square miles including communities that have rich traditions that value education.The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Business Administration or Accounting, with a Master&rsquo;s degree preferred. Competence in an educational environment with accounting, payroll, and internal auditing principles and procedures is essential. Experience with the WUFAR accounting system and Wisconsin Retirement Fund programs. Excellent organizational and time-management skills, as well as strong communication and interpersonal abilities, are required.
