 About The Role
 
 
 
 As a Software Engineer, Infrastructure (Early Career), you&rsquo;ll help build and operate the platform that powers Notion for millions of users. You&rsquo;ll work on services, storage, data, networking, observability, CI/CD, and developer experience to make our systems reliable, scalable, and efficient. You&rsquo;ll collaborate with senior engineers to design and implement high‑leverage infrastructure that enables product teams to ship quickly and safely.
 
 
 
 What You'll Achieve
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Ship improvements to core infrastructure that increase reliability, performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
 </li>
 <li>
 Contribute to backend systems that meet the needs of over 100 million global users, large enterprise customers, and our rapidly growing business.
 </li>
 <li>
 Build and maintain observability, alerting, and incident tooling to reduce MTTR and improve on‑call experience.
 </li>
 <li>
 Develop the skills and confidence to debug live production systems with minimal disruption. You will participate in an on-call rotation, responding to incidents to uphold service reliability and quickly restore normal operations.
 </li>
 <li>
 Automate operations with tooling and infrastructure‑as‑code to make our systems easy to run and evolve.
 </li>
 <li>
 Partner with our security teams to implement best practices for hardening, secrets, access, and compliance.

 Storage and databases: schema design, migrations, performance tuning, caching.

 Compute and orchestration: service frameworks, containerization, CI/CD, rollout safety.

 Observability: metrics, tracing, logging, SLOs, dashboards.
 </li>
 <li>
 Networking and edge: APIs, rate limiting, load balancing, traffic shaping, CDN.
 </li>
 <li>
 Platform foundations: developer tooling, local dev ergonomics, SDKs, testing infra.

 Reliability engineering: capacity planning, failover, disaster recovery, chaos testing.

 Skills You'll Need To Bring

 BS or MS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
 </li>
 <li>
 Proficiency in at least one general‑purpose programming language such as Typescript, Python, Rust, Go, Java, Python, or C++.
 </li>
 <li>
 Solid CS fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, systems, and networking.
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience from internships or projects building backend services , infrastructure, or full stack products.
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong communication skills and a collaborative, product‑minded approach.

 About The Web Infrastructure Team
 
 
 
 The Web Infrastructure team&rsquo;s mission is to empower Notion engineers with web frameworks that&rsquo;s easy-to-use, performant, consistent and accessible. We own web foundations such as how client code is structured, how assets are served to the users and how components are standardized and rendered to the users. If we do our job well, Notion engineers should be able to build performant and beautiful product fast while Notion users enjoys a frictionless experience.
 
 
 
 About The Role
 
 
 
 You&rsquo;ll be a core engineer on Web Infrastructure, focusing on improving Notion&rsquo;s web client performance. You will lead projects that reduce time to render a notion page and time to interact with the page content across the app. We will also invest in tooling and framework that helps product engineers build new product with the high quality experience.
 
 
 What You&rsquo;ll Achieve

 Improve Users Page Loading experience through modularizing client codebase, lazy loading or caching relevant assets for the users
 </li>

 Improve Interaction Latency through make the components and other part of codebase more lightweight and efficient
 </li>

 Build developer tooling so that we can detect and diagnose regressions to protect user performance.

 Deep experience building and optimizing large web applications in React or similar frameworks.

 Strength in modern bundling and build tooling such as Webpack and performance profiling.
