Key Responsibilities<ul><li>
Contract Administration: Implement contract terms in accordance with established policies and procedures. Participate in bidding, prepare contract documents, monitor compliance with submittals, and manage project close-out.</li><li>
Cost Management: Track project costs throughout planning, design, and construction to stay within budget. Manage cost estimating, reporting, pay requests, cash flow analysis, change orders, and forecasts.</li><li>
Schedule Management: Monitor and manage project schedules to ensure timely completion. Identify major components, sequence activities, coordinate subcontractors and deliveries, and resolve scheduling conflicts.</li><li>
Quality Management: Review, inspect, and test project systems, materials, and workmanship to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and standards. Oversee shop drawings, submittals, field inspections, material acceptance, and punch lists.</li><li>
Safety Management: Support Project Superintendent in implementing safety procedures, including jobsite safety plans, inspections, subcontractor insurance compliance, and OSHA compliance.</li><li>
Client Relations: Build and maintain strong, trust-based client relationships. Communicate effectively, deliver exceptional service, and contribute to proposals and project materials as needed.</li></ul>
Qualifications<ul><li>
Minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial construction, preferably large-scale ground-up or retail projects.</li><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent combination of education and field experience.</li><li>
Proficient in MS Office (MS Project desirable), Primavera, Bluebeam, Autodesk, ProCore, or other contract management software.</li><li>
Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, structural, civil, landscaping, and architectural plans, and their impact on cost, schedule, and performance.</li><li>
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with clients, owners, project teams, and field staff.</li><li>
Strong problem-solving aptitude with the ability to identify issues and propose effective solutions.</li></ul>

Summary 
As a Project Engineer at Novak Construction, you will manage and supervise project-level engineering and administrative functions. You will coordinate closely with field operations, project teams, and design professionals to ensure information is accurately communicated, understood, and implemented. 
 
Key Responsibilities<ul><li>
Develop a thorough understanding of contract documents, plans, specifications, and applicable codes.</li><li>
Ensure strict adherence to safety, ethics, and compliance requirements.</li><li>
Maintain clear communication among all project team members, design professionals, consultants, owners, and subcontractors.</li><li>
Support Preconstruction, Estimating, and Purchasing teams on budgets and Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) development.</li><li>
Conduct document reviews for constructability and QA/QC concerns, raising issues to design professionals as needed.</li><li>
Prepare materials, methods studies, cost estimates, and trade scope-of-work documents.</li><li>
Develop procurement schedules for subcontractors, materials, and equipment.</li><li>
Monitor financial status of the project, including accurate project reporting.</li><li>
Schedule, conduct, and document job meetings, owner-architect meetings, and coordination meetings.</li><li>
Manage subcontract change orders, including review, negotiation, and approvals.</li><li>
Oversee project close-out, including warranties, guarantees, final payments, and records retention.</li></ul>
Qualifications<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.</li><li>
Minimum of 2 years&rsquo; related experience in project engineering or construction management.</li><li>
Strong knowledge of construction processes, accounting principles, cost control, scheduling, and purchasing.</li><li>
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.</li><li>
Demonstrated ability to understand drawings, specifications, contracts, materials, means, and methods.</li><li>
Strong written and verbal communication skills, leadership, and interpersonal abilities.</li></ul>
