Novarc Technologies</b> is looking for a <b>Senior Welding Engineer</b> to join our growing team and support the production of our cobots.</p><p><b>
Summary:</b> As a Customer Experience Senior Welding Engineer will provide essential support in the operation and maintenance of the SWR&trade; (Spool Welding Robot) at the Novarc Houston CXC. This role will involve customer demonstrations, maintaining the center's equipment, and supporting the Welding Application team's research and development efforts.</p><div><b>
Location:</b> Customer Experience Center in Houston, TX (This position is not eligible for remote or hybrid work).</div><p><b>
Duties and Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li><div><b>
Perform customer demonstrations:</b></div><ul><li><div>
Set up and operate the SWR&trade; for new and prospective businesses and customers.</div></li><li><div>
Set up and operate the NovAI system for new and prospective businesses and customers</div></li><li><div>
Tack and fit coupon samples as needed.</div></li><li><div>
Provide technical support and answer customer questions as needed.</div></li><li><div>
Assist with post-demonstration tasks, such as cleanup and data collection.</div></li></ul></li><li><div><b>
Maintain the Experience Center:</b></div><ul><li><div>
Ensure the SWR&trade;, NovAI system and other equipment are in proper working condition.</div></li><li><div>
Assist with routine maintenance and troubleshooting.</div></li><li><div>
Keep the center clean and organized.</div></li></ul></li><li><div><b>
Support Welding Applications team:</b></div><ul><li><div>
Assist with testing and validation of new welding procedures.</div></li><li><div>
Collect and analyze data as needed.</div></li><li><div>
Provide general laboratory support.</div></li></ul></li><li><div><b>
Operate forklifts:</b></div><ul><li><div>
Safely operate forklifts to move equipment and materials around the Experience Center.</div></li><li><div>
Adhere to all forklift safety regulations.</div></li></ul></li></ul><p><b>
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:</b></p><ul><li><p>
Minimum Bachelor Degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Joining, or equivalent.</p></li><li><div>
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Welding Engineering role, preferably in a manufacturing or R&amp;D environment.</div></li><li><div>
Strong foundational knowledge of welding processes (GMAW, GTAW, SAW, etc.), metallurgy, and Nondestructive Testing (NDT) techniques.</div></li><li><div>
Proven ability to develop, qualify, and implement new welding procedures and specifications (WPS/PQR).</div></li><li><div>
Experience with relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., ASME B31.3, AWS D1.1, API 1104).</div></li><li><div>
Ability to manually tack and weld pipe with both GMAW and GTAW.</div></li><li><div>
Ability to learn, adapt to, and implement new welding technologies and automation.</div></li><li><div>
Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational, and project management skills.</div></li><li><div>
Ability to effectively lead and mentor junior engineering staff and welding technicians.</div></li><li><div>
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information.</div></li><li><div>
Ability and willingness to get a valid forklift operator's license.</div></li><li><p>
Ability to travel both domestically and internationally for training purposes, product demonstrations, supplier visits, and facility support.</p></li></ul><p><b>
Nice to have:</b></p><ul><li><div>
Experience with robotic welding systems is a plus.</div></li><li><div>
A valid Forklift License is a plus.</div></li></ul><p></p><div><b><br>
Success Metrics:</b></div><ul><li><div>
Effective assistance to the Director of Welding Engineering and Applications and regional Account Executives in customer demonstrations and engineering support.</div></li><li><div>
Consistent maintenance of the Customer Experience Center and equipment.</div></li><li><div>
Accurate data collection and analysis.</div></li><li><div>
Adherence to all safety protocols.</div></li></ul><p></p><div><b><br>
Compensation package:</b></div><ul><li><div>
Base Salary: USD $104 000 - USD $144 000 + Variable Salary</div></li></ul><p><b>
