<div>We are looking for a talented <b>Senior Java Engineer</b> to deliver world-class search engine technologies. You will be working with a smart team of machine learning scientists and software developers on both full applications and tools that power NTENT&rsquo;s powerful search platform. Seeking mid-level up to Architect level candidates.</div>
<div></div><div><b>Duties and Responsibilities:</b></div>
<ul><li>Building the backend engine that runs our product. This includes extending our existing Machine Learning and Big Data pipelines and building entirely new capabilities, including:
<ul><li>Big Data cluster, workflows and applications: data pipelines at scale, and real-time processing</li>
<li>Machine learning and Data Scientist support: used in linguistics, ranking, classification, and other artificial intelligence applications</li>
</ul></li><li>Ingestion Pipeline: process data that comes from our web crawler which discovers and fetches content from the web and other sources</li>
</ul>
<div></div><div><b>Skills and Qualifications:</b></div>
<ul><li>BS or MS degree in Computer Science</li>
<li>Solid experience with Java programming (we also use Spring, Spring Webflux, Reactor, Netty)</li>
<li>Multi-threading experience is a must</li>
<li>Experience in scalable architectures and high-throughput application design</li>
<li>Experience working with microservices/REST APIs (HTTP, XML, JSON)</li>
<li>Comfortable in Linux and Windows environments.</li>
<li>Prefer some experience with Big Data Technologies (at least one of the following):
<ul><li>Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, Hadoop, Hive)</li>
<li>Spark</li>
<li>Samza</li>
<li>Kafka</li>
<li>Aerospike</li>
<li>Lucene NLP (Solr or ElasticSearch)</li>

<b>Duties and Responsibilities:</b><br>
You can expect to maintain and extend one or more of the back-end and middleware search applications below:</p>
<ul><li>Analytics collection and computation: linguistic resources compiled based on traffic and corpora</li>
<li>Search related workflows (ingestion, search): the real stuff, at scale</li>
<li>Performance analysis/enhancement on high-availability/high-traffic sites and APIs</li>
<li>Working on our intelligent search platform and integrating with data partners</li></ul><br>

<b>Skills and Qualifications:</b></div>
<ul><li>At least 3 years of experience</li>
<li>Solid experience in .NET Core and C#</li>
<li>Multi-threaded programming experience
<ul><li>.NET asynchronous programming &ndash; async/await</li>
</ul></li><li>Experience in designing REST APIs (HTTP, XML, JSON)</li>
<li>Experience in scalable architectures and high-throughput application design</li>
<li>Distributed data stores such as Aerospike, Elasticsearch, Kafka, etc.</li>
<li>Experience in writing unit/functional/integration tests for large multi-threaded codebase</li></ul><br>

<b>The following experience is a plus:</b></div>
<ul><li>Messaging buses / queues &ndash; such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, MSMQ etc.</li>
<li>Strong grasp of async/await pattern and TPL</li>
<li>Knowledgeable in Design Patterns and best coding practices</li>
<li>User interface development (HTML, CSS, Typescript, React, JavaScript, jQuery)</li>
<li>Front end work &ndash; including React, JavaScript, CSS and HTML</li>
<li>Container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes</li>
<li>GIT workflow</li></ul></div>
