<div>Basic Purpose
 
Provides media relations and reputational management for NV Energy. Acts as a resource to internal stakeholders to research, plan, develop and measure external media programs to educate customers and improve customer satisfaction scores. Provides leadership for the corporate communications team and serves as the primary spokesperson.</div>
 <div>Essential Duties and Responsibilities
<ul><li>Develops strong relationships with media, facilitates interviews, and acts as a spokesperson for the company. Serves as a key contact for media on volatile, complicated and sensitive topics.
</li><li>Promotes the company&rsquo;s overall strategy, policies, and priorities to improve customer satisfaction through media avenues to influence external stakeholder groups and enhance understanding and support of the company.
</li><li>Serves as Public Information Officer. Leverages national, regional and local media relationships and channels to reinforce business priorities to elevate the company&rsquo;s reputation and role in local communities and among key stakeholders.
</li><li>Establishes and maintains media programs for operational/customer service outage response.
</li><li>Leads and implements various crisis and emergency response activities.
</li><li>Advises and supports company executives and leaders on communications techniques that reinforce business priorities, customer satisfaction goals and key messages.
</li><li>Drives impact, perception and consistency of approved external messages through collaboration with the corporate communications director, external marketing consultants and other external facing teams including community and government relations, economic development and major accounts.
</li><li>Leads the communications team; directs day-to-day activities, builds and executes communications strategy and plans, offers guidance and direction.
</li><li>Provides employee performance reviews for communications team members. Identifies performance and personnel issues for resolution.
</li><li>Collaborates with other members of the corporate communications team to develop ongoing efforts to cross-train and develop bench strength in the areas of public spokesperson, issues management and proactive reputational management.
</li><li>Ensures all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes and regulations applicable to position and company.

 <div>Essential Education, Skills, and Environment
 
Education and Work Experience
 
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree from an accredited school in communications, journalism, or a related field and six years of experience in external communications, media, public relations, or corporate communications roles.
Candidates that do not possess a bachelor&rsquo;s degree must have ten years of experience in external communications, media, public relations, or corporate communications roles.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills

Manager, Media Relations and Communications

<div>Basic Purpose
 
Performs analyses in support of business unit goals and initiatives. Provides support to business units in the development and reporting of budgets, forecasts, investments and other related processes. Ensures compliance with applicable policies, procedures and regulations. Operates with minimal supervision. May be required to work on special projects or to provide work direction and technical assistance to less experienced analysts.</div>
 <div>Essential Duties and Responsibilities
<ul><li>Provides analytical support to various business units in the development and reporting of budgets, forecasts, investments and other related processes.
</li><li>Conducts variance analysis.
</li><li>Ensures accurate forecasting and internal reporting of Operations and Maintenances and capital budgets.
</li><li>Provides timely insight on potential risks and opportunities.
</li><li>Collaborates in the development of short and long-term business plans in support of the corporate strategic plan.
</li><li>Participates proactively within the performance improvement culture by identifying and/or reporting performance and productivity metrics and participating in process improvement teams and benchmarking initiatives.
</li><li>Ensures compliance with established company policies, procedures and regulations including SOX. Assists in the development of departmental policies and procedures. Performs policy and procedure updates and ensures proper documentation as appropriate.
</li><li>Provides analytical support for all regulatory filings. Conducts ad hoc analyses as needed. Develops concise and accurate reports summarizing analytical results and recommendations. Ensures proper documentation of decisions.
</li><li>Ensures all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes and regulations applicable to position and company.

Education and Work Experience
 
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in a related field from an accredited school and 6 years of related experience.
Candidates that do not possess a bachelor&rsquo;s degree must have a minimum of 10 years of related work experience.
Bachelor's degree in finance is preferred.

Demonstrated technical knowledge of financial analysis and processes. Demonstrated skills in working with managers throughout the company in analyzing financial situations. Demonstrated skills in developing and maintaining effective relationships. Demonstrated planning, time management, communication, decision making, presentation, organization, and interpersonal skills.
