Position: Accounting Assistant Location: Midtown Manhattan (34th &amp; 7th) &ndash; In-office preferred, open to hybrid for the right candidateWe are a fast-paced CPA firm seeking a highly capable Accounting Assistant to work directly with leadership and support all areas of the business. This is not a narrow role &mdash; this is a hands-on position for someone who wants exposure to real accounting, tax, and operations.You will be involved in everything from bookkeeping and tax support to client coordination and internal operations. The right person is detail-oriented, reliable, and ready to take ownership.Responsibilities:<ul><li>Assist with bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online (data entry, categorization, reconciliations)</li><li>Support tax preparation (organizing workpapers, gathering documents, basic input)</li><li>Handle accounts receivable/payable tracking and follow-ups</li><li>Assist with monthly close and financial reporting</li><li>Communicate with clients to request documents and resolve open items</li><li>Maintain organized digital files and workflows across engagements</li><li>Support internal operations, admin tasks, and special projects as needed</li><li>Work directly with the CPA/owner on day-to-day execution</li></ul>Requirements:<ul><li>1&ndash;4 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience</li><li>Strong QuickBooks Online experience (non-negotiable)</li><li>Basic understanding of financial statements and accounting flow</li><li>Highly organized and detail-oriented</li><li>Strong communication skills (written and verbal)</li><li>Ability to manage multiple tasks and move quickly without losing accuracy</li><li>Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-responsibility environment</li></ul>Nice to Have:<ul><li>Exposure to tax prep (individual or business)</li><li>Experience in a CPA firm or multi-client environment</li><li>Excel proficiency</li></ul>Compensation:<ul><li>Based on experience: $60,000 &ndash; $90,000</li><li>Bonus and growth tied to performance</li></ul>Why This Role:<ul><li>Direct access to leadership and real decision-making</li><li>Exposure to a wide range of clients and industries</li><li>Fast growth path into senior accountant / manager roles</li><li>Not siloed &mdash; you will learn the full picture</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timePay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>Flexible schedule</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li></ul>Physical Setting:<ul><li>Office</li></ul>Education:<ul><li>Bachelor's (Required)</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>QuickBooks: 2 years (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
