We're looking for a dedicated individual to join us as a Lawn &amp; Garden Department Head. The individual in this position needs to have open availability, including evenings and weekends. As a member of the Nyberg's ACE team, you are provided with a supportive team, flexible scheduling, competitive compensation, and the potential for advancement.
<h3 class="jobSectionHeader">General Summary:</h3>
The Department Head is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a specific department. This includes providing expert advice and assistance to customers, managing inventory, maintaining merchandising standards, and leading a team to achieve sales goals.<h3 class="jobSectionHeader">
Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities:</h3>
Customer Service:<ul><li>
Provide a positive representation of Nyberg&rsquo;s ACE.</li><li>
Proactively assist customers in solving problems and ensure all customer needs are met.</li><li>
Greet customers throughout the store and thank them when they leave.</li><li>
Maintain strong product knowledge in the department you are leading, as well as store layout.</li><li>
Assist customers with personal, customized service to create an exceptional experience.</li></ul>
Department Operations:<ul><li>
Lead and train department associates in product knowledge, safety, and customer service.</li><li>
Assist with receiving, stocking, and pricing of all department merchandise.</li><li>
Manage inventory, back stock levels, and special orders.</li><li>
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe department and ensure merchandising standards are met.</li><li>
Provide support to management on merchandising ideas and sales strategies.</li><li>
Oversee daily maintenance, orderliness, and cleanliness of the department and sales floor.</li></ul>
Team Leadership:<ul><li>
Foster a positive and professional work environment.</li><li>
Encourage teamwork and support growth opportunities for department associates.</li><li>
Communicate department updates and goals to team members effectively.</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader">
Education/Training:</h3><ul><li>
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader">
Experience:</h3><ul><li>
Previous experience in a hardware store environment is highly preferred.</li><li>
Previous experience working in a lawn &amp; garden department or with lawn &amp; garden tools is highly preferred.
</li><li>Experience in a leadership or supervisory role required.</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader">
Physical Demands:</h3><ul><li>
Standing, walking, lifting (up to 50lbs), and climbing required.</li><li>
Must be able to handle physical aspects of stocking and inventory.</li></ul>
