 NYC Department of Finance (DOF) is responsible for administering the tax revenue laws of the city fairly, efficiently, and transparently to instill public confidence and encourage compliance while providing exceptional customer service.
 
 
 DOF&rsquo;s Administration and Planning Division is responsible for managing and overseeing administrative and operational services for the agency. This includes the daily management of the Offices of Financial Management, Purchasing and Contracts, Operational Services, and Diversity and Inclusion.
 
 
 Administration and Planning&rsquo;s Operational Services coordinates and directs all facilities-related operational support services for both public and privately leased properties agency-wide, including space planning, telecommunications, security, fire safety, health and safety, and fleet and transportation operations. The division also includes the agency warehouse, print shop, and mailroom operations.
 
 
 
 Responsibilities
 
 
 
 The Operational Services/Fleet &amp; Security Unit is seeking a motivated Motor Vehicle Operator to drive and assist in the maintenance of the agency's fleet of 130 vehicles. Reporting to the Deputy Director, the selected candidate's responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following duties:
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Drive DOF executive and other staff as needed to and from meetings and city-wide events.
 </li>
 <li>
 Drive vehicles to deliver agency-wide mail throughout DOF facilities daily. Drive to/from DOF offices and oversight agencies to pick up and drop off fleet-related documentation, such as registrations and gas cards. Drive vehicles to and from car washes.
 </li>
 <li>
 Assist in the maintenance of the agency's fleet, consisting of general pooled vehicles and the Sheriff's fleet. Assist with ensuring all oversight guidelines and requirements are followed. Track preventative maintenance schedule for 130 vehicles, including oil change and inspections. Schedule appointments with vendors and drive vehicles to and from shops and DOF facilities. Conduct quality control checks on work completed.
 </li>
 <li>
 Coordinate with garage personnel to monitor vehicles that are secure and parked safely. Address and resolve issues that arise. Arrange for towing companies as needed for disabled agency vehicles. Ensure towing protocol is followed.
 </li>
 <li>
 Assign vehicles to authorized drivers. Ensure forms and trip tickets are completed properly. Ensure rotation of the pooled vehicles so that all vehicles are used efficiently and uniformly, including those assigned to other divisions/offices.
 </li>

 Check telematics devices to ensure full functionality. Coordinate with oversight agency to troubleshoot/re-install malfunctioning devices. Drive vehicles to activate and test devices as needed.

 Assist with authorized driver certification process for 400 employees. Conduct checks to determine eligibility to drive. Ensure drivers maintain validity of driving requirements throughout the year. Ensure only authorized d rivers are using agency vehicles. Assist with annual re-certification process.

 Minimum Qualifications
 
 
 
 Education and Experience Requirements: There are no formal education or experience requirements.
 
 
 Driver License Requirement: By the time you are appointed to this position, you must have a motor vehicle driver license valid in the State of New York. If you have moving violations, license suspension(s) or an accident record, you may be disqualified. This license must be maintained for the duration of your employment.

 Job Description

 The Legal Affairs Division serves as the in-house legal department for DOF, providing professional and comprehensive legal advice and services supporting a full range of city tax and other revenue-related matters. Legal Affairs Division attorneys and staff handle various legal issues, including real property taxes and exemptions, business income and excise taxes, collections, parking violations, treasury, land registry, Conciliation Bureau conferences, FOIL, and employment law.
 
 
 
 
 
 The Parking Law Unit handles a full range of parking-related matters including handling parking law, parking administration and adjudication issues, prosecuting parking fraud reinstatement and broker compliance cases, drafting and reviewing parking related legislation and rules, advising operating divisions, supporting the City's Law Department on litigation matters, resolving legal issues arising from booting or towing vehicles, and preparing and signing collection and enforcement legal documents.
 
 
 
 
 
 The Parking Law Unit seeks an enthusiastic, self-motivated attorney intern to be part of our team handling a variety of parking law and enforcement-related legal matters. Under close supervision and direction, the candidate will work on a range of legal matters and projects that may include:
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Perform parking law, enforcement and administration related legal research and draft memoranda, legal responses, policy statements and other documents.
 </li>
 <li>
 Perform legal work involving issues of fact and questions of law, including parking law, NYC Administrative Code, NYS Civil Practice Law and Rules, and NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law.
 </li>
 <li>
 Assist in reviewing, analyzing and learning to draft State and local legislation, policies, and agency rules, forms and communications.
 </li>
 <li>
 Assist in providing legal counsel to the agency's operational staff and serve as liaison with operational staff on matters being handled by the unit and by the New York City Law Department.
 </li>
 <li>
 Participate in division and agency projects and assist with reports.
 </li>
 <li>
 Research and draft responses to claims or actions filed against the agency as needed.
 </li>
 <li>
 Under direction, serve as liaison with the Law Department on agency litigation matters.
 </li>
 <li>
 Prepare petitions or cases for administrative matters and hearings, such as parking fraud reinstatement cases, broker sanctions or other areas as needed.
 </li>
 <li>
 Participate in projects and handling matters in other areas as determined by the General Counsel or Division manager.
 </li>
