 Division/Program Summary
 
 
 
 The Bureau of Public Health Clinics (BPHC) mission is to promote a healthy community by providing New Yorkers with the resources needed to make informed and empowered health decisions; identify and treat tuberculosis and provide immunization and sexual health services regardless of ability to pay or immigration status. BPHC provides direct clinic services to people seeking health care; monitors disease trends; provides education and training to service providers and community groups; conduct research; and develops policies and programs to deliver high quality clinical care which best serve New Yorkers.
 
 
 
 Job Duties And Responsibilities
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Perform and report quality Control testing on a weekly basis in the blood room for rapid (INSTI) HIV in accordance with the policy and procedures (SOPM).
 </li>
 <li>
 Perform and report quality Control testing on a weekly basis for all reagents in the blood room for rapid (INSTI) HIV in accordance with the policy and procedures (SOPM).
 </li>
 <li>
 Monitor temperature for refrigerators and GC incubator.
 </li>
 <li>
 Inform patients of the purpose and type of testing; ensuring specimens are obtained in a courteous and professional manner.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure specimens are stored safely and preserved in a designated area in accordance with the Bureau's policy and procedures.
 </li>

 Maintain clean, organized work areas and properly equip with supplies needed.

 High school diploma or its equivalent and:

 One year of appropriate full-time experience or training in a biological, chemical, or clinical laboratory; or

 Eight credits, including laboratory coursework, in biology, chemistry, or medical technology, from an accredited college or university; or

 Division/Program Summary
 
 
 
 The Bureau of Childcare ensures that childcare services in New York City operate in compliance with the New York City Health Code and New York State Social Service regulations and are licensed or permitted as required by law. The Bureau routinely monitors childcare programs to protect the health and safety of children while in the childcare environment and actively works to improve and expand access to high quality programs which support early childhood development and learning.
 
 
 
 Position Summary
 
 
 
 The Investigator will serve as a Clearance Administrator for the Central Clearance Unit conducting comprehensive background checks for childcare staff.
 
 
 
 Job Duties And Responsibilities
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Review background clearance applications for completeness and accuracy, and process all required checks within designated timeframe.
 </li>
 <li>
 Manage a caseload of background clearance requests for licensed and prospective childcare providers.
 </li>
 <li>
 Examine, analyze and verify records, documents and other information.
 </li>
 <li>
 Draft determination letters and conduct related outreach to providers and staff of childcare programs regarding clearances.
 </li>
 <li>
 Provide technical assistance to childcare operators and staff regarding background clearances necessary to attain, renew or maintain a license to provide services.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure proper storage and handling of confidential information and update databases in accordance with protocols.
 </li>
 <li>
 Assist childcare providers by liaising between City and State agencies, community groups, parents and the general public related to Early Childhood Education.

 An associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college; or

 Education and/or experience equivalent to "1" or "2" above. Undergraduate college credit can be substituted for experience on the basis of 30 semester credits, from an accredited college, for one year of full-time experience.
