O'Brien Construction is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the successful execution of construction projects, from pre-construction to final completion. You will work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Estimators to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Assist in the development and maintenance of project schedules, budgets, and plans.
</li><li>Manage document control, including submittals, RFIs, and meeting minutes.
</li><li>Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure timely material deliveries and resolve any issues that may arise.
</li><li>Assist with estimating extra work, preparing correspondence, and expediting project tasks.
</li><li>Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and quality standards.
</li><li>Proactively identify and resolve project challenges.
</li><li>Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
</li><li>Participate in the Job Rotation Program to gain valuable experience in various construction disciplines (Assistant Superintendent, Assistant Estimator, Assistant Project Manager).
</li></ul>Qualifications:
<ul><li>Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
</li><li>Strong commitment to safety.
</li><li>Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and construction-related software.

Multi Family Construction Project Engineer - Detroit, MI

<div>About the Role:
Project Managers at O&rsquo;Brien Construction lead and guide Project Teams in the successful execution of construction projects, from initial estimating through final completion and close-out. We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented individual to join our team and contribute to the successful delivery of high-quality construction projects.
Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Lead and manage all aspects of assigned construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
</li><li>Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, monitor progress, and identify and mitigate potential risks.
</li><li>Act as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
</li><li>Ensure adherence to all safety regulations, best practices, and company policies.
</li><li>Review and approve subcontractor proposals and manage subcontractor performance.
</li><li>Prepare and analyze project budgets, track costs, and identify and resolve cost variances.
</li><li>Conduct regular project meetings and communicate effectively with all team members.
</li><li>Proactively identify and resolve project challenges and implement solutions.
</li><li>Maintain a thorough understanding of project plans, specifications, and contracts.
</li><li>Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the project team.
</li><li>Continuously improve project management processes and seek opportunities for innovation.
</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications:
<ul><li>High school diploma required; Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
</li><li>Minimum five (5) years of experience in construction project management, including experience with construction scheduling, cost control, project accounting, logistics planning, and risk management.
</li><li>Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
</li><li>Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
</li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
</li><li>Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.</li>
