Legal Counsel, Technology, Data &amp; Privacy Compliance<div></div><div>
Pay Details:</div>
The annual base salary range for this position in California is $150,000 to $180,000 per year. The starting pay for the successful candidate depends on various job-related factors, including but not limited to the candidate&rsquo;s geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, education/training, internal value, peer equity, external market demands, and organizational considerations.<div></div><div>
The Legal Counsel is responsible for delivering legal support to the OC Sports &amp; Entertainment&rsquo;s legal department across a wide variety of functions and business units. This role supports the SVP, General Counsel, as well as the Directors of Legal Affairs with technology, data, and privacy related projects and communicates on complex legal issues with cross-functional stakeholders. This role will serve as the primary attorney responsible for Technology Governance, Risk Management and Compliance matters (&ldquo;GRC&rdquo;).</div><div><br>
</div><div>Responsibilities</div><ul><li><div>
Provide legal support and advice to various business units on a variety of legal issues, primarily focusing on technology, data and privacy compliance</div></li><li><div>
Enhance and partner with finance, operations and technology to oversee the Company&rsquo;s PCI program, including developing training and monitoring programs</div></li><li><div>
Proactively monitor, research, review and analyze U.S. laws, rules and regulations for compliance</div></li><li><div>
Review, draft and negotiate key internal and third-party agreements related to technology, balancing legal risk with business goals</div></li><li><div>
Work with business teams to identify and implement legal strategies and help inform executive decision-making</div></li><li><div>
Collaborate with other departments and cross-functional stakeholders to support business projects</div></li><li><div>
Simplify complex legal issues for non-legal team members and serve as a trusted advisor</div></li><li><div>
Perform other duties and projects as assigned</div></li></ul><div></div><div>
Skills</div><ul><li><div>
4 to 7 years of legal practicing experience, with minimum of 18 months of in-house experience in a corporate law department</div></li><li><div>
J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school, member in good standing of at least one state bar, and eligible to be registered as an in-house counsel with the State Bar of California</div></li><li><div>
Relevant coursework, clinics, and internship/externship experience will be considered as well</div></li><li><div>
Previous GRC related experience in a law firm or in-house position</div></li><li><div>
Technology contract review and drafting experience</div></li><li><div>
Legal research and writing experience</div></li><li><div>
Strong organizational abilities and exceptional verbal and written communication skills</div></li><li><div>
Comfortability in a dynamic and fast-paced environment</div></li></ul><div></div><div>
Knowledge, Skills and Experience</div><div>
Education - J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school</div><div>
Certifications Required &ndash; NA, prefer PCIP, CIPP/US or similar qualification</div><div>
Experience Required &ndash; 4+ Years</div><div></div><div>
