The job details are as follows:</h1>
As an Associate Data Scientist you will work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions<div>
Responsibilities:</div><div><div><div><div><ul><li>
Maintain OCLC&rsquo;s data platform with up-to-date, quality data</li><li>
Translate business problems to technical requirements to design rapid prototypes of reports and dashboards</li><li>
Build and maintain data models, reports, dashboards, and KPI/metrics from internal databases</li><li>
Write performant code that meets our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for a high-scale data environment. Maintain and advocate for these standards through code review.</li><li>
Perform exploratory data analysis for quality assurance, reporting, and to inform the development of statistical and machine learning models</li><li>
Implement the DataOps philosophy in everything you do</li><li>
Create and maintain documentation for data science initiatives and data resources</li><li>
Collaborate with Data Scientists to drive efficiencies for their work</li></ul>
Requirements:<ul><li><div>
Bachelor&rsquo;s in a quantitative field (e.g., Engineering/CS/Math/Stats) + 2+ years in a data science role or Master&rsquo;s + 1+ year in a data science role</div></li><li><div>
Proficient in SQL for data warehouses</div></li><li><div>
Intermediate Python proficiency (pandas/numpy, scikit-learn; visualization with matplotlib/seaborn/plotly)</div></li><li><div>
Experience applying statistical and machine learning methods; solid grounding in probability and statistical inference</div></li><li><div>
Experience with hypothesis testing and designing/analyzing experiments</div></li><li><div>
Exposure to cloud environments and software engineering best practices (e.g., Git, code reviews, testing)</div></li><li><div>
Strong data storytelling and communication skills; comfortable working in agile, collaborative teams</div></li></ul></div></div></div></div>

Senior Software Engineer / Java and React Developer

The role
You will perform high-level analysis and design of library software programs and systems, that are used by library customers in Europe and Asia Pacific.
This role is primarily focused on improving the CBS and adding new functionality.
Additional responsibilities are Continuous Integration, maintaining up-to-date development environments and delivering software releases.
Responsibilities<ul><li>
Design, code, and test multiple modules of a system in a timely manner.</li><li>
Apply industry-standard programming techniques to translate requirements and designs into code.</li><li>
Analyze and resolve problems in existing systems.</li><li>
Assist in developing and interpreting requirements.</li><li>
Participate in unit, system, and acceptance testing.</li><li>
Participate in major architectural reviews and plans.</li><li>
Plan and participates in load, capacity, and performance analysis and/or testing.</li></ul>
The CBS Team
The CBS development team is based in Leiden, the Netherlands. The work will involve international collaboration.
CBS is a Metadata management product used by national libraries and regional library consortia to build, manage, and maintain large library collections. CBS has evolved over decades into a highly flexible, commercially successful product that is used by OCLC&rsquo;s partners in the Netherlands, Germany, France, Japan and Australia. Leiden is one of the engineering centers for developing OCLC&rsquo;s products.
Qualifications<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s or Master&rsquo;s degree in computer science-related discipline or equivalent experience</li><li>
A minimum of 5 to10 years of relevant working experience as a Software Engineer</li><li>
Experience with Java/Spring and related development tools is required</li><li>
Experience with React and related development tools is required</li><li>
Experience with AWS Lambda, EKS, ECS</li><li>
Experience with (PostgreSQL) databases is preferred</li><li>
Excellent experience with Linux and scripting</li><li>
Knowledge of Git is preferred</li><li>
Experience with C programming language is considered an advantage</li><li>
Proficiency in utilizing AI tools in your daily development work</li><li>
Good communication skills in Dutch and English, both verbal and written.</li><li>
Flexibility, proactiveness, strength, and willingness to work in an international environment</li><li>
Strong team player in an agile development environment</li></ul>
