Job Summary:</b> The Director of Finance has responsibility for the control of the Odawa Casino Resort financial activities. The Director of Finance will lead the accounting, cage, drop, purchasing, shipping &amp; receiving, and revenue audit departments both strategically and operationally. The Director of Finance will ensure compliance with all federal and tribal gaming regulations/laws and provide financial support to the property&rsquo;s executive team.</div><div></div><div><b><br>
Primary</b><b> </b><b>Duties</b><b> </b><b>and</b><b> </b><b>Responsibilities:</b></div><br>

Ensure the integrity of all financial data produced by the department.</li><li>
Coordinate the development of the annual Odawa Casino budget for approval by the General Manager.</li><li>
Formulate and recommend policies on banking, receipt and distribution of funds, fiscal and accounting matters.</li><li>
Direct oversight of the short and long-term cash management and arrangement of outside financing.</li><li>
Oversee compliance issues; maintain an updated knowledge of Gaming Laws/Regulations applicable to areas of responsibility and safeguard all Enterprise assets through prompt reporting through the proper chain of command up to and including the Gaming Authority and/or Regulatory as necessary.</li><li>
Establish, monitor, and maintain an effective system of internal controls to safeguard company assets.</li><li>
Establish a system of troubleshooting financial problems to ensure cost effectiveness throughout the property.</li><li>
Held accountable, to the highest degree, for the accuracy, confidentiality, and thoroughness of</li><li>
departmental records and reports.</li><li>
Responsible for creating and/or reviewing all quarterly reviewed financial statements and annually audited financial statements, which include Managements&rsquo; Discussion and Analysis (MD&amp;A) statements.</li><li>
Work with the independent auditors of the company and ensure compliance with Generally Accepted</li><li>
Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) announcements.</li><li>
Assist independent auditors as required. Address and correct audit findings regarding financial activities.</li><li>
Ensure adequate internal controls and policies and procedures are in place for the departments under his/her direct supervision; and advise the General Manager on other departments&rsquo; need for improved internal control policies and procedures; and work with department managers and directors to ensure same.</li><li>
Ensure and enforce compliance with NIGC minimum internal controls, State Compact and Gaming</li><li>
Regulatory controls.</li><li>
Oversee accounting, cage, drop, purchasing, shipping &amp; receiving, and revenue audit departments.</li><li>
Responsible for accounting, cash management, banking, borrowing, investing and safekeeping of securities.</li><li>
Review and recommend contracts for approval.</li><li>
Preparation and review of financial, budget, and management reports and related journals and source documents.</li><li>
Responsible and accountable for short and long-term financial matters, policies and practices.</li><li>
Reviews and advises on restrictive covenants and all other items of borrowing.</li><li>
Establish and maintain financial institution relations.</li><li>
Responsible for development, review, and recommendation of effective policies and procedures for all Finance Department function areas.</li><li>
Oversee reconciliation of all casino bank accounts and casino operating banks and funds, responsible for</li><li>
monthly financial statements.</li><li>
Monitor financial performance and communicate with the executive team of Odawa Casino Resort.</li><li>
Maintain awareness of the external environment; anticipate impact on the financial affairs of the company.</li><li>
Participate in strategic planning activities and provide the executive team and Gaming Authority best</li><li>
practice financial advice on all major gaming financial activities at Odawa Casino Resort.</li><li>
Establish and control cash concentration and management systems.</li><li>
Maintain internal control system with regard to cash collections and disbursements, and investments of excess cash.</li><li>
Communicate with and provide information to the General Manager as requested or required.</li><li>
Provide accurate and timely financial information and analysis to be utilized in controlling the operations and achieving the business plan of the enterprise.</li><li>
Maintain an effective working relationship with all internal and external finance customers.</li><li>
Has authority to hire, terminate, promote, demote, transfer, provide training opportunities, recommend merit increases, evaluate performance, create and adjust performance standards, create and/or delegate staff scheduling, invoke disciplinary action and demonstrate the fair and equitable treatment of all Team Members.</li><li>

Minimum</b><b> </b><b>Qualifications:</b></div><br>
<div></div><ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Accounting/Finance (CPA/Master&rsquo;s preferred) or equivalent.</li><li>
Seven (7) years&rsquo; supervisory experience in finance which pertains to Accounting, Audit, Planning &amp; Analysis and operations. (Preferably in casino operations).</li></ul><ul><li>
Prior and demonstrated casino or hospitality accounting management experience is required.</li><li>
Expertise in GAAP, financial reporting, tax filings, and payroll systems.</li><li>
Strong internal controls and compliance background.
</li><li>Current and relevant gaming industry knowledge is preferred.</li><li>
Proven ability to lead teams and communicate effectively.</li><li>
Must be able to meet deadlines and to work under the pressure of short time constraints.</li><li>
Working knowledge of the Tribal Minimum Internal Control Standards (TMICS) is preferred or the ability to learn and understand the TMICS within the 90-day introductory period.</li><li>
Analytical mindset with discretion for confidential data and problem-solving.</li><li>
Travel from building to building and local in-town travel is required.</li><li>
Occasional out-of-town travel required.</li><li>
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.</li><li>
Must have excellent computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office products, and ability to quickly learn specialized software packages.</li><li>
Great Plains eEnterprise experience preferred.</li><li>
Must be able to meet Odawa Casino Resort internal supervisory or higher training and education requirements.</li><li>
Must be flexible with shifts and days off.</li><li>
You may be required to pass a skills assessment test to determine if you meet the minimum qualifications of the position.</li><li>
Must be able to obtain a gaming license in accordance with the regulations established by the LTBB Gaming Regulatory Commission and be able to serve in the position under any other applicable law.</li></ul><div></div><div><b><br>
