The Role: 
Work Model: Hybrid – Monday thru Thursday onsite, Fridays remote.
 Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
 Travel Requirements: No
 Supervisory Responsibilities: Yes – indirect oversight of 2 staff members.
 Reports to: Sr. Accounting Manager
 
Summary / Primary Role: 
The Senior Accountant will perform various general accounting functions, including month-end closing, for the Transport & Warehouse division. These responsibilities require the Senior Accountant to work closely with the Operations Accounting group. The Senior Accountant prepares certain journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations during the monthly and annual closings. They will complete ad hoc projects under the direction of the Sr. Manager, Finance & Accounting.
 
What You’ll Do: 
<ul>
<li>Prepare month-end balance sheet reconciliations, including cash, accounts receivable, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accounts payable and accrued expenses.</li>
<li>Maintain and reconcile fixed assets ledger and roll forward, including the addition of new assets and the monthly depreciation of assets.</li>
<li>Maintain prepaid expense schedule, including monthly amortization of items and addition of new expenses to the appropriate departments.</li>
<li>Reconcile intercompany accounts receivable/payable accounts between the Company’s entities each month-end.</li>
<li>Reconcile balance sheet accounts and review operational results of international business units.</li>
<li>Participate in the development of reports and projects designed to increase efficiencies in cash management and decision making.</li>
<li>Provide supervision, support and guidance to offshore accounting team of 1 - 2 staff members.</li>
<li>Work with external auditors to supply data and reporting as needed for requests related to assigned areas.</li>
<li>Lead or assist with various finance or accounting projects assigned by the Sr. Manager, Finance & Accounting.</li>
<li>Monitor financial performance against budgets and provide variance analysis.</li>
<li>Assist in forecasting future financial trends.</li>
<li>All other duties and projects assigned.</li>
</ul>
What You Bring: 
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field required</li>
<li>4–6 years of general accounting experience required</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)</li>
<li>Hands on experience with fixed assets, including capitalization and depreciation required; roll forwards experience preferred</li>
<li>Experience managing accounting activities across multiple entities, locations, or accounts</li>
<li>Experience with Oracle Fusion preferred; other ERP systems will be considered</li>
<li>Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables</li>
<li>Ability to extract, analyze, and interpret data through system queries and reporting tools</li>
<li>Experience performing intercompany reconciliations across multiple entities</li>
<li>International accounting experience is a plus</li>
<li>Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills</li>
<li>High attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy</li>
<li>Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines effectively</li>

Summary / Primary Role: 
The position of Dispatcher will have primary responsibility to direct and coordinate the pickup and delivery of local/regional shipments and freight.
 
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

 <ul>
<li>Provide superior customer service to all customers, both internal and external. Seek to increase cooperation and smooth flow of information/documents within and between departments to enhance efficiency in trucking and warehouse operations.</li>
<li>Dispatch for pickup and delivery of cargo to/from customers, marine terminals, rail terminals, off dock intermodal terminals, and warehouses, or other locations/facilities.</li>
<li>Monitor Hours of Service of drivers and Independent Contractors to ensure compliance with FMSCA regulations.</li>
<li>Monitor and use company cargo/shipment databases; websites for marine terminals, steamship lines, railroads, intermodal industry (eModal & UIIA) and other off dock facilities for availability, appointments, and finding problems.</li>
<li>Communicate in a timely manner to internal departments and customers regarding the status of containers, appointments, marine and rail related challenges, detected vessel arrival changes, traffic related impacts and other difficulties.</li>
<li>Prepare, maintain, and disseminate to subscribing departments a daily dispatch report, which summarizes container status: active dispatch appointments, released and available, “needs attention or action” to become available for appointments.</li>
<li>Coordinate with Warehouses, Surface Transportation, Customs Brokerage, and International Transportation departments to establish planning and priority for dispatch of available containers to manage upcoming production plans.</li>
<li>Communicate with customers, sales, and other departments to assemble information necessary to assure that incoming and outgoing shipments are dispatched in a timely and properly documented manner.</li>
<li>Assure that all shipments are accurately documented and signed for, research cargo status, container release, and location status via phone and e-mail.</li>
<li>Obtain necessary permits for trips that require them.</li>
<li>Update company and other appropriate electronic records on a timely and accurate basis.</li>
<li>Handle routine CFS, DOT, Vendor, and Dispatch documentation production and flow processes.</li>
<li>Develop from available resources rate quotes for drayage services as requested.</li>
<li>Input shipment information into company computer.</li>
<li>Maintain information in the strictest of confidence.</li>
<li>Support and actively comply with the security duties and responsibilities described in the C-TPAT Security Program document which was received and signed for upon hire.</li>
<li>ALL OTHER DUTIES AND PROJECTS AS ASSIGNED.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications and Key Skills:

<li>High school diploma or equivalent.</li>
<li>Keyboarding proficiency using both hands and all fingers accurately.</li>
<li>Minimum two years’ experience dispatching in a truck/intermodal environment.</li>
<li>Must have working proficiency of Customs and Border Protection, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, and State of Alaska regulations as they pertain to dispatching and carrier compliance.</li>
<li>Must be customer service focused.</li>
<li>Proficient in the use of computer programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook.</li>
<li>Good working competency with chassis provider websites, terminal websites, ocean carrier websites, eModal, and/or UIIA is preferred.</li>
<li>Excellent organizational skills for prioritizing workloads and maintaining proper documentation.</li>
<li>Must be able to work independently.</li>
<li>Requires a high level of attention to detail and data entry accuracy.</li>

Expected Hours of Work: 
Associate must work a minimum of thirty (30) hours each week to maintain full-time status for benefits purposes, however the expectations of the position will require an average of forty (40) hours with overtime required as scheduled.
