 Role Overview
 Provide leadership and direction to teammates to attain short- and long-term goals, optimize team effectiveness, and meet daily work schedules in the Processing Department. Drive improvements in safety, morale, and cost control. Achieve departmental goals and metrics by supervising plant teammates, to achieve safety goals, productivity goals, material usage targets, inventory targets, product quality requirements and equipment yield.
 
Key Responsibilities
 <ul>
<li>Ensure teammates perform work according to established safety rules and practices, environmental and housekeeping standards while striving for ZERO Accidents.</li>
<li>Understands customer quality requirements, assures teammates understand and follow these requirements.</li>
<li>Implements and assures procedures are followed to detect and eliminate non-conforming incoming supplies.</li>
<li>Implements and assures procedures are followed for the processing department.</li>
<li>Partner with Human Resources in staffing and retention of the plant.</li>
<li>Coordinate purchase of supplies necessary to ensure functioning of the department.</li>
<li>Supervise, train and develop, and review staff.</li>
<li>Plans plant operations, establishing priorities and sequences for processing and packaging products.</li>
<li>Communicate key metrics to Plant leadership and production teams to stimulate process improvement and cost reduction.</li>
<li>Partner with Maintenance and Process Improvement to coordinate maintenance activities to meet established preventative maintenance goals.</li>
<li>Maintain procedure manuals and training aids.</li>
<li>Establish and ensure effectiveness of packaging teammates training.</li>
<li>Gather and analyze data; make recommendations for process improvements and cost reductions.</li>
<li>Meet production and packaging efficiency goals along with crew efficiencies and maximize daily production.</li>
<li>Complete required reporting and documentation.</li>
<li>Oversees time entry and approvals in the HRIS system to ensure accuracy and compliance.</li>
<li>Perform other related duties as assigned.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications
 
Education: 
<ul>
<li>Experience with an ERP Manufacturing system preferred.</li>
<li>Associate degree Preferred</li>
<li>2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, proven leadership experience preferred.</li>
</ul>
Skills & Abilities: 
<ul>
<li>Proficient in excel, word, mathematical skills, computer skills and reasoning ability.</li>

<li>Works cross departmentally to achieve plant goals and objectives.</li>
<li>Coordinate with Shipping/Warehouse Supervisors to ensure functioning of Shipping/Warehouse department.</li>
<li>Supervise, train, and develop, and review Shipping/Warehouse supervisory staff.</li>
<li>Communicate key metrics to Plant Manager and Supervisory teams to stimulate process improvement and cost reduction</li>
<li>Develop and maintain procedure manual and training aids.</li>
<li>Gather and analyze data; make and implement recommendations for process improvements and cost reductions.</li>
<li>Complete required reporting and documentation.</li>
<li>Perform other related duties as assigned.</li>

Qualifications
 
Education: 
<ul>
<li>College Degree preferred, or equivalent professional experience; must pass all job-related</li>
</ul>
assessments.
 
Skills & Abilities: 
<ul>
<li>Minimum 5 years’ experience in a distribution or packaging environment</li>
<li>Minimum 3 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity preferred</li>
<li>Experience in bulk material handling and shipping/warehouse procedures</li>
<li>Proficient in spreadsheet development and word processing</li>
<li>Able to analyze problems and present workable solutions</li>
<li>Experience with counting inventory and maintaining accurate inventory documents preferred</li>
<li>Familiarity with MSHA (or OSHA) regulations and practices, desired</li>
