 We are seeking dedicated Mental Health Technicians to join our team and support individuals receiving behavioral health treatment in an inpatient setting. Under close supervision, this role plays a key part in delivering both direct and indirect care to patients in need of behavioral health support.
 
 
 
 Position Overview
 
 
 
 As a Mental Health Technician, you will help maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment for patients. You will assist with therapeutic activities, promote wellness, and contribute to de-escalation efforts when needed. Your presence and behavior will serve as a positive example, offering guidance and encouragement to those in your care.
 
 
 
 Key Responsibilities
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Provide Direct and Indirect Care: Support patients individually and in groups within an inpatient behavioral health setting
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure Safety and Well-Being: Participate in de-escalation strategies and help ensure a safe environment that meets patients&rsquo; physical and emotional needs
 </li>
 <li>
 Serve as a Role Model: Demonstrate effective problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and coping skills
 </li>
 <li>
 Assist with Therapeutic Activities: Facilitate or support recreational, educational, and therapeutic activities that enhance emotional and mental wellness

 Monday-Friday-7:00am-4:00pm

 Hourly Rates:

 Level II: $15.28 hourly
 </li>
 </ul>

 Potential to earn extra $$:
 </li>

 <li>
 Extra $.50/hour for working evenings and nights
 </li>
 <li>
 Extra $.75/hour for working weekends and holiday
 </li>
 <li>
 Mental Health Technicians also receive an extra $1 per hour shift pay, for any shift worked! That can be stacked on top of the Evening/Weekend pay too
 </li>
 </ul>

 Weekends and Holidays May be Required!

 Primary position will be with Medical Support/Lab. Technicians are expected to cover the Unit floors if coverage is needed.

 Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

 Level II: One year of behavioral health patient care experience required
 </li>
 <li>
 Possesses a strong commitment to patient well-being and safety

 MUST HAVE VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE AS TRAVEL IS REQUIRED

 Upon a conditional offer of employment, Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services applicants must submit to a physical examination and shall meet the physical examination requirements of occasionally lifting/carrying 50 pounds and able to push and pull a maximum force of 25 pounds

 Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and as such have a valid driver&rsquo;s license

 About us:
 
 
 
 Griffin Memorial Hospital Annex (GMH Annex) is located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on the site of the former Hillcrest Hospital. This 30-bed facility provides compassionate, recovery-focused care for individuals who are pretrial defendants found incompetent to stand trial, as well as those adjudicated Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity (NGRI) or Not Guilty by Reason of Mental Illness (NGRMI). The GMH Annex is dedicated to helping each person achieve stability, restore competency, and successfully transition to the next stage of their recovery journey.
 
 
 
 Drug and Alcohol Pre-employment and Preplacement Testing:
 
 Upon a conditional offer of employment, applicants for safety sensitive positions shall be required to submit to urinalysis to test for drugs. Appointment to a safety sensitive position shall be contingent upon a negative drug test result.
 
 
 
 THIS AGENCY REQUIRES COVERAGE 24 HOURS, 7 DAYS PER WEEK. WORK HOURS AND LOCATION MAY VARY DEPENDING ON BUSINESS NECESSITY. EMPLOYEES MAY BE REQUIRED TO WORK WEEKENDS AND OVERTIME.

 Minimum Qualifications &amp; Experience:
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Behavioral Case Manager I: Education and Experience requirements at this level consists of a High School Diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED), or High School Equivalency (HSE) Credential and six (6) months of behavioral health experience.
 </li>
 <li>
 Behavioral Case Manager II: Thirty-six (36) months of direct, documented experience working with persons with mental illness and/or substance use disorder and possess a High School Diploma or equivalent or
 </li>
 <li>
 Sixty (60) college credit hours and have a minimum of twelve (12) months of direct, documented experience working with persons with mental illness and/or substance use disorder or
 </li>
 <li>
 Bachelor's or Master's degree in any field and have a minimum of six (6) months of direct, documented experience working with persons with mental illness and/or substance use disorder or
 </li>
 <li>
 Have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a behavioral health related field or
 </li>
 <li>
 Have a current license as a registered nurse in the State of Oklahoma with documented experience in behavioral health care.
 </li>
 <li>
 Senior Behavioral Case Manager II &ndash; Same Minimum Qualification as a Behavioral Case Manager II plus 2 additional years of experience as a case manager.
