We are looking for a <b>Staff Full Stack Engineer</b> to build the user experience for the <b>Okta Recovery Vault (ORV)</b>. The ORV is a critical new enterprise-grade capability designed to protect against the accidental or malicious deletion of identity objects. This role is essential to our &quot;Land big, grow fast&quot; strategy, by providing customers with a reliable safety net for their data.</p>
<p>
You will be responsible for designing and implementing a highly intuitive <b>self-service recovery UI</b>. This interface must empower admins to perform complex operations&mdash;such as bulk restorations of hundreds of users, managing configurable retention policies, and navigating detailed post-restore checklists&mdash;with confidence and ease.</p>

Job Duties and Responsibilities</b></h3>
<ul><li><b>UI Development:</b> Lead the implementation of the Recovery Vault UI, ensuring a seamless experience for authorized admins via the Okta Admin Console.</li>
<li><b>Complex Workflows:</b> Build interactive interfaces for granular and bulk recovery operations, including async job progress indicators and success notifications.</li>
<li><b>Data Visualization:</b> Develop the &quot;Captured&quot; data summary view, using visual cues like status icons and tooltips to show admins exactly which credentials and relationships are recoverable at a glance.</li>
<li><b>Advanced Filtering:</b> Create robust filtering and search components that allow admins to scope deletions by source (Admin UI, Automation, SCIM) and time-based presets (Last 24h, 3 days, 7 days).</li>
<li><b>User Guidance:</b> Implement interactive post-restore checklists and summary modals to guide admins through manual follow-up actions like MFA re-enrollment and API token reissuance.</li>
<li><b>Collaboration:</b> Partner closely with Lead Product Designers and Product Managers to define the &quot;how&quot; of the user journey, ensuring the UI reduces admin &quot;panic&quot; during critical deletion incidents.</li>
<li><b>Performance:</b> Ensure the UI remains responsive and performant even when handling large datasets during bulk operations.</li>
<li><b>Backend:</b> Design, build, and maintain end-to-end features using modern JavaScript and cloud-native technologies (React, Node.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL).</li>
<li><ul><li>Lead technical design for key initiatives, driving quality, scalability, and maintainability.</li>
<li>Own services throughout their lifecycle &mdash; including implementation, testing, deployment, observability, and incident response.</li>

Job Duties and Responsibilities</b></h2>
<ul><li>Partner with engineering teams to design, develop, and deliver cloud-based infrastructure projects that solve complex reliability issues and help Okta&rsquo;s service scale.</li>

<ul><li>8+ years of experience as a software developer with deep, expert-level knowledge of Java (Golang experience is a strong plus).</li>
<li>Demonstrated history of architecting, implementing, tuning, and debugging global cloud software. Deep understanding of microservices, cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred, Azure, or GCP), and modern container ecosystems (Docker, Kubernetes).</li>
<li>Proven track record of addressing scaling, redundancy, and performance bottlenecks in high-availability, multi-tenant SaaS environments.</li>
<li>Practical experience or strong interest in leveraging generative AI utilities and developer assistance tools (e.g., AI coding assistants, automated code-generation, intelligent log analytics, or predictive profiling tools) to drive development productivity and system optimization.</li>
<li>Outstanding communication and leadership skills with a proven ability to coordinate high-impact technical projects, manage stakeholder alignment, and influence technical direction.</li>
<li>Previous experience in a dedicated platform reliability, resilience, or core infrastructure role is highly valued.
