<div>Olsson Industrial Electric seeks a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Assistant to support the purchasing department. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, efficient, and eager to support construction projects from behind the scenes. A strong interest or background in electrical materials or construction is a definite plus. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
<ul>
<li>Review and complete purchase documentation ensuring the completeness and accuracy of purchases made by purchasing agents within the department.</li>
<li>Assist in the procurement of miscellaneous materials, tools, equipment, and supplies.</li>
<li>Create and process purchase orders in line with company guidelines.</li>
<li>Track orders to ensure timely delivery and follow up with vendors on order status or delays.</li>
<li>Maintain and update supplier records, pricing information, and purchase documentation.</li>
<li>Coordinate with accounting for invoice verification and resolve any discrepancies.</li>
<li>Participate in daily safety talks.</li></ul>

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required

1-3 years of purchasing or administrative experience, ideally in the construction or electrical industry.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with procurement or ERP systems is a plus.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Base pay is $23-$26+ per hour (DOE).
