</p><p></p><p><b>Job Summary / Overview</b></p><p>
Support the development, review, and implementation of nuclear safety documentation for various facilities. Provide technical assistance in developing and reviewing nuclear safety documents and analyses, technical safety requirements, and related technical support documentation. Ensure that the developed nuclear safety documentation complies with requirements and as necessary, applicable controls are implemented in field procedures. Conduct Nuclear Safety Program assessments and maintain program manuals.</p><ul><li>
Apply technical experience in field of specialization or broad-based experience in multiple technical fields, and use other technical resources within the company, to resolve complex problems.</li><li>
Incorporate advanced technical practices and a variety of complex features such as complicated technical requirements, application of new or special materials or processes and difficult coordination or oversight requirements into problem solving and program planning.</li><li>
Provide leadership in determining solutions to complex problems and be recognized as having expertise in a functional area(s) of technical expertise.</li><li>
Develop solutions to complex technical problems in fields of expertise.</li><li>
Keep informed on technical needs within the company and technical trends in area of expertise in the external world.</li><li>
Be aware of capabilities of the work group and needs of its customers. Identify technical programs which can be carried out with little guidance and take the initiative to accomplish them.</li><li>
Lead task teams for developing solutions to more complex problems. Prepare plans including schedules, budgets and personnel requirements for solving major technical tasks identified by management.</li><li>
Develop schedules, monitor progress, monitor expenditures of budget and review quality of work performed. Include research, development, testing, quality assurance requirements.</li><li>
Communicate the results and objectives verbally and in manuscript form to customers, colleagues, managers and oversight groups.</li><li>
Prepare reports for external publication.</li></ul><div><div><b>

Contributes to advancing knowledge in field of expertise through various avenues such as internal and external publications and professional society presentations.

Previous experience with the use and implementation of 10 CFR 830, DOE O 413.3, DOE O 420.1, DOE STDs 3009, 1186, 1189 and related directives and standards is required.
</div></li><li><div>Candidate must demonstrate proficiency in developing and providing safety basis inputs to facility/project schedules, while meettng deadlines and budgets.
</div></li><li><div>Candidate must perform work safely and be proficient in performing Nuclear Safety Program assessments.</div></li><li><div>
Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE &quot;Q&quot; clearance.
</div></li><li><div>Ability to work in a diverse work environment.</div></li><li><div>
Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a background check and drug screening.</div></li></ul><div><div><b>
Education/Experience:
</b></div></div><ul><li><div>An advanced degree and experience, a BS degree and approximately 15 years' experience Or MS degree and 12 years' experience Or Ph.D. degree and 10 years' experience.</div></li></ul><div><div><b>
Desired Skills:</b></div></div><ul><li><div>
Candidates who have possessed an active DOE clearance (Lor Q) within the past two (2) years are preferred.</div></li><li><div>
Demonstrated previous SRS nuclear safety engineering experience is preferred.</div></li><li><div>
Fifteen years of relevant experience in developing, reviewing, and maintaining safety basis documents and safety basis support documents are preferred.</div></li><li><div>
Have previous Lead experience in developing safety basis documentation.</div></li></ul><div><div><b>
Work Location:
