We provide neurological and traumatic brain injury (TBI) evaluations, minimally invasive cervical and lumbar procedures as well as more complex spine and orthopedic surgeries.
We serve Florida with locations in Miami, Plantation, and Orlando.
We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Documentation Specialist &amp; Proofer to join our healthcare documentation team. This role primarily involves proofreading medical documentation for accuracy, clarity, and proper medical terminology, while utilizing macro systems within the EMR for efficient editing. You'll also transfer AI dictations to the EMR system. You'll play a key role in maintaining high-quality patient records and supporting clinical operations. 
 
Key Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Proofread medical documentation for grammar, spelling, and medical accuracy</li></ul>
<ul><li>Utilize macro systems within the electronic medical record (EMR) for efficient editing and formatting</li></ul>
<ul><li>Transfer AI dictations into the EMR system</li></ul>
<ul><li>Ensure compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality standards</li></ul>
<ul><li>Review and format medical abbreviations and terminology for proper documentation</li></ul>
<ul><li>Collaborate with physicians and staff to verify unclear or incomplete dictations</li></ul>
<ul><li>Maintain organized records in electronic health systems (EHR)</li></ul> 
 
Qualifications:
<ul><li>Experience with medical terminology and anatomy</li></ul>
<ul><li>Proficiency with computers and programs, especially for navigation through EMR systems.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Familiarity with Excel spreadsheets and Word files.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Typing speed of 60+ words per minute with high accuracy</li></ul>
<ul><li>Excellent editing and proofreading skills</li></ul>
