Omni Wound Physicians is actively hiring Mobile Wound Care Physicians (MDs/DOs) across Texas to deliver advanced, in-person wound care services. This is a field-based, procedural physician role serving patients in skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), long-term care centers, and private residences. 


This opportunity is ideal for physicians seeking autonomy, flexibility, and purpose-driven care delivery in a mobile environment. Both direct hire (W-2) and independent contractor (1099) models are available.

Schedule &amp; Shift Options
<ul>
<li>Minimum Scheduling Requirement: At least two shifts per work week.
</li>
<li>Shifts: Typically between 7:00 AM &ndash; 7:00 PM local time (subject to change based on business needs).
</li>
<li>Full-Time: Minimum 30+ hours per week (includes full benefits package).
</li>
<li>Part-Time: Minimum 2 shifts per week (paid sick time accrual available).
</li>
<li>On-Call &amp; Weekend Coverage: Some on-call or weekend coverage may be required, but team members will typically be notified in advance to ensure personal commitments are not interrupted whenever possible.

</ul>Pay Transparency
<ul>
<li>Employment Pay Range: $245,000 &ndash; $425,000 annually
</li>
</ul>Final compensation is based on provider classification, regional coverage, experience, and productivity. This role may also include incentive or bonus eligibility depending on assignment type.

<li>Required active/valid documentation (LLC, EIN, W-9)
</li>
</ul></li><li>Mileage not reimbursed (eligible as tax-deductible expense)
</li>
<li>No benefits or tax withholdings provided 

</li>
</ul>Core Duties and Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Deliver bedside wound care to patients in SNFs, LTCs, and homes
</li>
<li>Perform wound care procedures: sharp debridement, NPWT, biopsies, gastrostomy care
</li>
<li>Diagnose and manage complex wounds (diabetic, venous, arterial, pressure, post-op)
</li>
<li>Secure and document informed patient consent prior to treatment
</li>
<li>Educate patients and caregivers on wound management and prevention
</li>
<li>Document visits in real time using OWP&rsquo;s HIPAA-compliant EHR system
</li>
<li>Collaborate with SNF staff, interdisciplinary teams, and internal coordinators
</li>
<li>Participate in clinical quality improvement and workflow optimization
</li>
<li>Perform other reasonable duties as assigned in support of organizational goals 

</li>
</ul>Qualifications &amp; Experience

Required:
<ul>
<li>Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
</li>
<li>Active, unrestricted medical license in Texas
</li>
<li>Board certification in a relevant specialty (Surgery preferred; OB/GYN, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine also accepted)
</li>
<li>Minimum of 3&ndash;6 years of clinical practice in wound care, geriatrics, internal medicine, emergency medicine, or related specialties
</li>
<li>Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
</li>
<li>Reliable transportation and a valid Texas driver&rsquo;s license
</li>
</ul>Preferred:
<ul>
<li>Wound Care Certification (CWSP, CWS) or ability to obtain within 1 month
</li>
<li>DEA registration for prescriptive authority (preferred but not required)
</li>
<li>Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, or home health settings
</li>
<li>Proficiency with EHR systems and workflow efficiency tools 

</li>
</ul>Physical and Travel Requirements
<ul>
<li>Able to walk, stand, bend, and perform bedside procedures for extended periods
</li>
<li>Able to lift up to 25 pounds (equipment, supplies)
</li>
<li>Daily driving required (up to 70 miles/day)
</li>
<li>Must have auto insurance meeting Texas minimum liability requirements
</li>
<li>Must enter SNFs or homes that may lack ADA access or elevator service
</li>
<li>Must document care using mobile technology (tablet, laptop) 

</li>
</ul>Texas Compliance
<ul>
<li>Full Practice Authority: MDs and DOs may independently treat and prescribe
</li>
<li>CME Requirement: 48 hours every 24 months, including:
<ul>
<li>At least 24 hours in formal Category 1 or 1A courses
</li>
<li>2 hours in medical ethics and/or professional responsibility
</li>
<li>2 hours in pain management and the prescription of opioids
</li>
<li>1 hour in human trafficking prevention (first renewal and every third renewal thereafter)
</li>
</ul></li><li>Controlled Substances:
<ul>
<li>DEA registration required for prescribing Schedule II&ndash;V medications
</li>
<li>Electronic prescribing of controlled substances (EPCS) mandated, with waivers available under certain circumstances
</li>
</ul></li><li>License Renewal: Biennial via the Texas Medical Board; renewal requires completion of CME requirements and submission of fingerprints for criminal background check if not previously completed
