About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer in Hotels Acquisition, you will build scalable backend systems and platforms that ingest, process and distribute hotel inventory across On the Beach. We have AWS-hosted high-performance databases that contain billions of items. There are always interesting problems to solve!
You will work on systems that support supplier connectivity, inventory acquisition, pricing and availability freshness, cache optimisation and search distribution.
This is a backend and platform focused role with strong emphasis on distributed systems, cloud native technologies, operational excellence and high performance at scale. You will work closely with engineers, product managers, analysts and commercial teams to deliver reliable and commercially impactful solutions. 
What you&rsquo;ll be doing day to day
At On the Beach, our Hotels Acquisition team builds the platforms that power hotel choice, availability and pricing across the holiday journey.
We acquire, optimise and distribute hotel inventory from multiple suppliers to ensure customers can discover the right holiday at the right price with accurate availability.
Our systems sit behind hundreds of thousands of searches every day and operate in a domain where scale, data freshness, supplier reliability and customer experience are deeply connected.
Our mission is to deliver the best hotel choice, availability and value through scalable and intelligent acquisition platforms.
This is a role for engineers who enjoy solving large scale, data intensive and distributed systems challenges that directly influence customer experience and business performance.

We are looking for engineers who enjoy solving complex technical problems and building scalable systems that operate reliably under high throughput environments.
You will likely have experience in:<ul><li>
Building scalable backend systems and distributed services</li><li>
Designing and operating cloud native platforms</li><li>
Working with large scale and data intensive applications</li><li>
Messaging infrastructure, streaming technologies and event driven architectures</li><li>
Building reliable and observable production systems</li><li>
Working with APIs, integrations and external suppliers</li><li>
Solving scalability, latency and operational resilience challenges</li><li>
Working collaboratively across engineering, product and commercial teams</li><li>
Making pragmatic technical decisions in fast moving environments</li><li>
Curiosity to learn new technologies and continuously improve engineering practices</li><li>
Interest in AI assisted engineering, agentic coding workflows and modern developer tooling</li></ul>
Experience with .NET, C#, AWS, Kubernetes, APIs, observability tooling and modern cloud native engineering practices is highly desirable.

Senior Software Engineer - Flight Acquisition

We&rsquo;re looking for a Senior AI Automation Engineer to help design, build and mature the next generation of intelligent, automated systems across the business.
From AI powered workflows and agent driven solutions to services, integrations and automation platforms, you&rsquo;ll help us create scalable solutions that reduce manual effort, improve decision making and unlock capacity across the organisation.
About the Role 
This is not a traditional RPA role. We don&rsquo;t just want to automate, we want to simplify our processes first.
You&rsquo;ll work at the intersection of automation, AI and software engineering, helping shape how we identify, design and deliver high impact automation opportunities across On the Beach.
You&rsquo;ll be trusted to take ownership of complex problems from discovery through to production, working closely with stakeholders to understand the real business need and creating solutions that are practical, secure, measurable and built to last.
You&rsquo;ll work alongside our existing team of AI and Automation engineers, helping us build both early prototypes, and robust platform capabilities. Over time, you&rsquo;ll become a key point of technical ownership for our AI automation approach, helping establish standards, reusable patterns and ways of working for the wider business.

Leading the design and delivery of complex automation and AI solutions across the business, using AI augmented engineering tools such as Claude Code.</li><li>
Taking ownership of technical discovery, solution design and implementation, turning ambiguous business problems into scalable and maintainable automation products</li><li>
Working closely with our engineers, product teams and business stakeholders to develop, productionise and improve AI enabled workflows and agent based solutions</li><li>
Designing and integrating APIs, services, and other data sources to create reliable end to end automation solutions</li><li>
Establishing strong engineering practices around testing, security, observability, documentation, error handling and incident response</li><li>
Assessing where AI is the right solution and where simpler automation, process improvement or system integration would create better value</li><li>
Building reusable components, standards and patterns that make future automation work faster, safer and easier to maintain</li><li>
Monitoring the performance, reliability, cost and business impact of solutions in production, using data and feedback to prioritise improvements</li><li>
Supporting and mentoring engineers or colleagues who are developing their automation and AI engineering capability</li></ul>
You&rsquo;ll be a great addition to our team if you have the following skills, knowledge and experience<ul><li>
Demonstrable experience of using AI Augmented software engineering tools such Claude Code, Codex or similar. Experience with frameworks such as ADK, LangChain is beneficial too.</li><li>
Strong scripting experience, ideally Python, with a track record of building and maintaining production grade services, integrations or automation solutions Experience designing complex automation systems beyond scripting, including workflows that integrate multiple services, APIs, data sources and business processes</li><li>
You&rsquo;re used to interpreting data and building data-led tools to help non-technical stakeholders visualise and understand business problems.</li><li>
Experience taking technical ownership of projects, from problem discovery and solution design through to deployment, monitoring and iteration</li><li>
Experience applying sound software engineering practices, including version control, code review, testing, CI/CD, documentation and observability</li><li>
The ability to balance short term delivery with long term maintainability, making pragmatic decisions in a fast moving environment</li><li>
Experience supporting, mentoring or coaching other engineers, or a clear interest in helping others develop</li></ul>

About the Role
We&rsquo;re looking for a Data Engineering Manager to help lead and grow our data engineering capability, shaping the platforms and practices that power analytics, insight and AI-driven innovation across the business.

You&rsquo;ll play a key role in helping us modernise how data moves through the business, from event-driven cloud data through to more traditional operational data sources, while supporting a talented team of engineers to do their best work.
What you&rsquo;ll be doing day to day
As Data Engineering Manager, you&rsquo;ll help lead a team responsible for building reliable, scalable and trusted data products across On the Beach.
The role will be varied, with your time broadly split across three key areas: helping us consume and shape event-driven data, working with more traditional data sources and patterns, and supporting the growth and development of the team.
You&rsquo;ll work closely with engineers, analysts, product teams, commercial teams and senior stakeholders to make sure our data platforms are robust, well understood and genuinely useful to the business.
You&rsquo;ll be responsible for:<ul><li>
Leading, supporting and developing a team of data engineers, creating an environment where people can grow, share knowledge and deliver high-quality work</li><li>
Shaping our approach to both modern event-driven data and more traditional data sources, helping improve how we ingest, process, model and make data available across the business</li><li>
Supporting the design and evolution of our data platform, including pipelines, orchestration, observability, lineage, governance and data quality</li><li>
Partnering with teams across Product, Engineering, Analytics and Data to understand business needs and translate them into scalable, maintainable data solutions</li><li>
Helping define and improve data engineering standards around testing, monitoring, documentation, deployment and reliability</li><li>

Success in this role is about building data pipelines and products that teams can trust.
You&rsquo;ll help improve the reliability, quality and performance of our data platform, making it easier for teams across On the Beach to access and use the data they need. You&rsquo;ll reduce friction for downstream analytics and AI use cases by creating well-structured, well-tested and well-documented data products.
You&rsquo;ll also contribute to a strong engineering culture within the data team, where standards are clear, pipelines are observable, and continuous improvement is part of how we work.
