 About The Role
 
 
 
 As a Software Engineer, Distributed Data Systems, you will design and scale the infrastructure that powers large-scale multimodal training and evaluation at OpenAI. You&rsquo;ll manage distributed data pipelines, collaborate closely with researchers to translate requirements into robust systems, and harden pipelines that serve as the backbone for Sora&rsquo;s rapid iteration cycles.

 This role is based in San Francisco, CA. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees.

 We are seeking a Field Engineer to own the day-to-day technical health of robotic workcells used in ongoing operations. You will diagnose and resolve issues across mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines, perform on-site repairs, and drive improvements that increase system reliability and maintainability. You will manage and prioritize incoming tickets, work closely with operators and engineering teams, and ensure that systems remain safe, functional, and ready for continuous use. Your work directly supports the high-uptime operation of the robotic systems that power key research and development efforts.
 
 
 
 This role will be based in San Francisco, CA until April 2026 and then move to Richmond, CA. We require 5 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees.
 
 
 
 
 In This Role, You Will

 Serve as the primary engineering owner responsible for keeping our fleet of robotic workcells online in daily operation.

 Partner closely with technicians and operations staff to develop and execute scalable fleet support processes.

About the Role
 
We are seeking a full-funnel growth athlete with deep expertise in product growth, growth marketing, creative-led social channels, India consumer behavior, funnel optimization, and sophisticated experimentation. You will own growth initiatives end-to-end from ideation and deployment to measurement and iteration tuned to the region’s mobile and social dynamics.
 
This role requires strong cross-functional collaboration with engineering, data science, design, and product to scale highly localized growth levers. You’ll focus on scaling paid acquisition efficiently across high-impact channels, improving conversion across mobile and app funnels, driving new business adoption, and building infrastructure to maximize ROI while expanding India-specific channels, segments, and workflows.

In this role, you will: 
Design, launch, and optimize global paid and organic acquisition campaigns across channels (search, social, referral, influencer, programmatic), balancing efforts across B2B and B2C segments.
 
Leading growth experiments and A/B testing across funnels and entry points - defining hypotheses, setting up measurement frameworks, enhancing conversions, and translating insights into scalable playbooks.
 
Partnering with engineering and data science to build, test, and refine growth tooling, creative ops automation, and optimization algorithms.
 
Managing full-funnel performance metrics, from CPM/CPC to LTV/CAC, and identifying new opportunities for efficiency and scale.
