Job Title: Quantity Surveyor &ndash; Consultant Side Location: UAE Experience: 7 to 10 years Industry: Engineering Consultancy / Project Management Employment Type: Full-time Reporting To: Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial ManagerRole Objective:To support the commercial and cost management functions of infrastructure and building projects by delivering accurate quantity verification, cost evaluation, and contract compliance from a consultant's perspective.Key Responsibilities:Pre-Contract Support<ul><li>Assist in preparing preliminary cost estimates and detailed BOQs</li><li>Conduct quantity take-offs from design drawings during tender stages</li><li>Support the tender team with cost benchmarking and rate build-up</li><li>Assist in tender evaluation &ndash; commercial comparisons, qualification of bids, and clarification reviews</li></ul>Post-Contract Quantity Management<ul><li>Review and validate contractor-submitted quantities against IFC drawings and specifications</li><li>Maintain updated BOQ logs and measurement sheets</li><li>Conduct joint site measurements with supervision teams and contractors</li><li>Track material usage and construction progress against approved quantities</li></ul>Cost Control &amp; Reporting<ul><li>Monitor budget utilization and flag deviations with supporting analysis</li><li>Assist in preparing monthly cost reports, forecasts, and earned value analysis</li><li>Compile data for cost-to-complete and support the team in updating project cash flows</li><li>Reconcile actual work done vs. financial progress on site</li></ul>Billing &amp; Payment Review<ul><li>Review and certify interim payment applications submitted by contractors</li><li>Ensure accuracy of claimed quantities and alignment with contract terms</li><li>Coordinate with the site team for physical verification</li><li>Prepare payment recommendation memos for client sign-off</li></ul>Variation &amp; Claims Evaluation<ul><li>Track variation requests and conduct detailed quantity analysis for change orders</li><li>Support in preparing commercial impact summaries for variations</li><li>Assist in reviewing and preparing claims reports, including documentation, timelines, and financial implications</li><li>Maintain variation and claim logs for each project</li></ul>Coordination &amp; Documentation<ul><li>Interface with design, supervision, and project management teams</li><li>Participate in project and client review meetings when required</li><li>Maintain complete QS documentation: BOQs, take-offs, approvals, payment logs</li><li>Support the senior QS in audits, final accounts, and project closeout</li></ul>Required Qualifications:<ul><li>Degree/Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related discipline</li><li>4&ndash;6 years of UAE/GCC experience with an engineering consultancy or PMC</li><li>Proficient in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and take-off software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam, Planswift)</li><li>Familiar with FIDIC conditions of contract and cost control procedures</li><li>Strong communication, reporting, and documentation skills</li></ul>Preferred Skills:<ul><li>Familiarity with infrastructure sector (utilities, roads, metro, etc.)</li><li>Exposure to both pre-contract and post-contract QS responsibilities</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timePay: AED7,000.00 - AED10,000.00 per month
