Business Oregon</div>, the state&rsquo;s economic development agency, is currently hiring a Regional Development Officer (Operations &amp; Policy Analyst 4). This position collaborates extensively with local, regional, state, federal, and philanthropic partners to deliver resources and support to Oregon communities and businesses.</div><div></div><div>

Here&rsquo;s what you will do:</div><ul><li><div>
Direct and coordinate regional business retention, expansion, and recruitment.</div></li><li><div>
Support regional and state industry sector strategies</div></li><li><div>
Conduct company visits to build relationships, provide support, and track assistance/results.</div></li><li><div>
Develop partnerships with communities and align projects with regional strategies.</div></li><li><div>
Support business deals through negotiations and manage state commitments.</div></li><li><div>
Promote agency programs via presentations, events, and partner outreach.</div></li><li><div>
Collaborate with partners to develop projects leveraging grants/loans across funding agencies.</div></li><li><div>
Ensure applications meet program criteria and oversee contracts, disbursements, and monitoring.</div></li></ul><div></div><div>
Minimum Qualifications:</div><div><br>
A bachelor&rsquo;s degree in business or public administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, Finance, Political Science or any degree demonstrating the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and five years professional-level evaluative, analytical and planning work</div><div></div><div>
OR</div><div></div><div>
Any combination of experience and education equivalent to eight years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skills for the classification.</div><div></div><div>

Demonstrated experience developing and implementing regional economic development strategies based on analysis of strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities.</div></li><li><div>
Experience in facilitating collaboration between public and private sectors (utilities, transportation, financial institutions, etc.).</div></li><li><div>
Advanced knowledge of and hands-on experience guiding public and private organizations through financial assistance programs, including state, federal, philanthropic, and private funding sources.</div></li><li><div>
Experience in developing and analyzing proposals for economic development and advising leadership on strategic options and projected outcomes.</div></li><li><div>
Experience representing an organization in complex, multi-agency meetings, regional commissions, and coordination with Governor&rsquo;s Office staff.</div></li></ul><div></div><div><i>

Business Oregon is the economic development agency for the state of Oregon. We have about 200 people on our team, and we work with communities and businesses. We use our programs and expertise to help businesses grow, so they can in turn add jobs, diversify the economy, and increase Oregon prosperity. We work with communities to enhance and expand infrastructure and community safety with projects such as water/wastewater systems, seismic rehabilitation for schools, or rural broadband development. This also sets the stage for future business development. The Economic Development Division (EDD) promotes business and economic development opportunities by removing barriers to business and industry sector growth and job creation/retention. The EDD division services include assisting Oregon businesses and communities to access State programs for public and private sectors. Programs and assistance include business finance programs and incentives, global trade assistance, infrastructure financing and other community and economic development programs.</div><div></div><div>
Recruitment Officers, Regional Development Officers, Global Trade Specialists, analysts, program specialists and coordinators, and loan officers work collectively in partnership with Oregon businesses and local communities to achieve the State&rsquo;s economic development goals. Regional Development Officers work closely, and extensively, with local, regional, state, federal, and philanthropic partners to deliver resources to Oregon communities and businesses.</div><div></div><div>
