POSITION PURPOSE
 
The Social Media Strategist is responsible for developing and executing Orion Financial’s social media strategy to enhance brand awareness, engage current and prospective members, and support organizational goals. This role will manage the day-to-day operations of all social media platforms, creating compelling content that reflects Orion’s community-driven mission and values. The strategist will track performance metrics, analyze trends, and provide insights to optimize campaigns and improve member engagement. By combining creativity with data-driven decision making, the Social Media Strategist will ensure Orion Financial maintains a strong, authentic, and impactful digital presence.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
 1. Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy that aligns with company objectives, marketing campaigns, and the overall brand voice.
 2. Identify emerging trends, new platforms, and opportunities to enhance engagement and expand audience reach.
 3. Collaborate closely with community, marketing, and product teams to ensure social media content aligns with broader campaigns and initiatives.
 4. Create, curate, and schedule high quality, engaging content including graphics, videos, posts, and stories across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), TikTok, Reddit, and YouTube.
 5. Maintain brand consistency across all social content in terms of tone, style, and messaging.
 6. Manage social media content calendars and coordinate the rollout of campaigns to ensure timely and strategic publishing.
 7. Coach and empower public-facing team members including branch staff, loan officers, and community representatives on best practices for using personal social media to build a professional presence and share tailored posts that align with Orion Financial’s messaging and goals.
 8. Monitor social media channels daily, respond to customer inquiries, and engage with followers in a timely and professional manner.
 9. Build and maintain positive relationships with community members, influencers, and local partners to strengthen brand visibility and trust.
 10. Track key performance indicators such as engagement, reach, impressions, conversions, and return on investment to measure success.
 11. Generate regular performance reports, offering insights and actionable recommendations to optimize strategy and content.
 12. Use data and analytics to inform decisions and continuously refine and improve social media strategies.
 13. Work with the Digital Marketing Director on paid social campaigns including budget allocation, audience targeting, and performance tracking to maximize awareness, lead generation, and conversion outcomes.
 
QUALIFICATIONS
 
Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
 Required Knowledge: Strong understanding of major social media platforms, trends, and best practices. Familiarity with social media management and analytics tools such as Hootsuite, Sprout Social and Meta Business Suite. (Preferred) Knowledge of SEO, SEM, and digital advertising.
 Experience Required: A minimum of 3 years of proven experience managing social media for a brand or agency. (Preferred) Experience in financial services, banking, or credit unions.
 Skills/Abilities: Excellent communication, copywriting, and storytelling skills. Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable strategy. (Preferred) Some graphic design and video editing skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut).

Social Media Strategist

POSITION PURPOSE
 
The Digital Marketing Strategist leads the planning, execution, optimization, and performance reporting of integrated digital campaigns across paid media, SEO, website, and social platforms. This role is responsible for aligning digital efforts with business objectives to drive growth, engagement, and measurable results. Reporting to the SVP Marketing and working closely with cross-functional teams, the strategist blends data-driven insight with creative strategy to develop high-impact campaigns. The ideal candidate is data-driven, creative, and detail-oriented, with a strong understanding of performance marketing and digital best practices.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
 
Campaign Strategy & Execution
 1. Create, manage, and optimize paid digital campaigns across Meta (Facebook/Instagram), Google Ads (Search, Display, YouTube), and industry-specific platforms.
 2. Develop strategy and content to support business line marketing (mortgage, consumer, business banking) and brand awareness initiatives.
 3. Lead A/B testing strategies and campaign optimization based on real-time performance data.
 
Website Management & SEO
 4. Oversee day-to-day management of the organization’s external website, including landing page creation, content updates, and performance improvements.
 5. Collaborate with SEO agencies to develop and implement SEO strategies (on-page, off-page, technical) to drive organic traffic growth and improve search rankings.
 6. Use tools like Google Search Console and SEMrush to monitor site health and performance.
 
Analytics & Reporting
 7. Track and analyze campaign KPIs (CTR, CPC, CPA, ROAS, etc.) using Google Analytics (GA4), Looker Studio, and platform dashboards.
 8. Create detailed campaign performance reports with actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
 9. Present data findings and marketing strategy updates to internal stakeholders and leadership.
 
Creative Development
 10. Develop high-performing ad copy, digital display creative, and promotional messaging aligned with brand standards.
 11. Collaborate with design resources or use tools (Adobe Creative Suite) to create static and animated ads for campaigns.
 12. Ensure all content is compliant with financial regulations and accessibility standards.
 
Social Media Oversight
 13. Grow the organization’s social media presence across platforms including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, and emerging channels.
 14. Develop monthly content calendars, paid social strategies, and performance reports.
 15. Work with internal teams to ensure consistent, relevant, and engaging messaging across all touchpoints.
 
Cross-Functional Collaboration
 16. Collaborate with internal departments including mortgage, business banking, HR, and community engagement to align digital efforts with business priorities.
 17. Support CRM and lead-gen integration strategies, tracking digital leads through the full conversion funnel.
 18. Coordinate with external vendors, media buyers, and agency partners as needed.
 19. Maintain in-depth knowledge of organization’s products, services, and business channels, and maintain current knowledge of industry trends and opportunities.
 20. Other related tasks as assigned.
 
QUALIFICATIONS
 
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, or related field required. Google Ads, Meta Blueprint, or SEO certifications preferred.
 
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: 
Strong understanding of performance data and the ability to make strategy adjustments based on insight. Familiarity with HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar CRM platforms preferred. Knowledge of accessibility standards, ADA compliance, and financial marketing guidelines preferred.
 
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

<li>3+ years of experience in digital marketing strategy, with a proven record of campaign performance and optimization required. Experience in financial services or regulated industry preferred.</li>
<li>Hands-on experience with:</li>
<li>Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, and YouTube advertising</li>
<li>Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, and Looker Studio</li>
<li>Website CMS platforms (e.g., Craft or similar)</li>
<li>SEO tools (SEMrush, Moz, Screaming Frog, etc.)</li>
<li>Social media scheduling and analytics tools (SproutSocial, HubSpot)</li>
</ul>
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
