Summary
This position is responsible for providing quality, proficient and professional laboratory services in a critical access hospital and outpatient setting. The MLT/MLS position collects and processes specimens using appropriate technique, performs testing and verifies assay/analyzer performance. This position is responsible for testing in all of the following areas: hematology, coagulation, microbiology, chemistry, urinalysis and transfusion medicine. Additional responsibilities include documentation and communication of laboratory results, and assay/analyzer maintenance.

Qualifications<ul><li>
Minimum of associate degree in a lab science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution, required.</li><li>
Qualified to work in a high complex laboratory, required.</li><li>
Laboratory certification such as ASCP or AMT. If not certified at time of hire, must acquire certification within 12 months, required.</li><li>
At least one year of experience required.</li></ul>
Responsibilities<ul><li>Collect and process specimens using appropriate technique.</li><li>Perform testing and verify assay/analyzer performance.</li><li>Responsible for testing in any of the following areas: hematology, coagulation, microbiology, chemistry, urinalysis and transfusion medicine.</li><li>Document and communicate lab test results thoroughly and accurately.</li><li>Perform and document assay/analyzer maintenance.</li></ul>
