The Quality Technician will be responsible for completing inspection and testing tasks in all the production, quality, and testing areas of the Spartanburg Plant. These inspections and tests may take place on supplier parts or Oshkosh assembled parts, sub-assemblies, or completed vehicles. The quality technician will be responsible for utilizing the plants&rsquo; Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to record inspection and test findings. Inspections and tests will be carried out in accordance with the approved work instructions, checklists, and control plans. The Quality Technician may also participate in plant level start-up/daily review meetings and report out on inspection and test findings.
Essential Duties:
These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned. Technicians may be assigned to a specific area (paint, end of line etc.) so some of these responsibilities may not apply to all quality technicians.<ul><li>
Utilize inspection work instructions, checklists, and control plans to complete inspections and tests on &ldquo;in-process&rdquo; vehicles and sub-assemblies</li><li>
Complete inspections, sorting and minor rework on purchased components when parts are required to support production requirements</li><li>
Utilize the MES system and other systems to record inspection and test findings</li><li>
Interface with production operators to understand any challenging assembly process that may require additional inspection</li><li>
Participate in plant start-up and daily review meetings and provide details on inspection and test findings</li><li>
Complete testing and drive evaluation on completed vehicles</li><li>
Create summary reports of inspection and test findings</li><li>
Participate in continuous improvement, root cause, 8D team meetings</li><li>
Utilize CMM to measure incoming parts and in process vehicles (training will be provided)</li><li>
Utilize torque monitoring equipment to verify DC torque tools</li><li>
Utilize hand tools (calipers, micrometers, go/no go gages, etc.) to verify components</li><li>
Inspect sheet metal surface quality</li><li>
Inspect paint quality</li><li>
Contain suspect vehicles and perform inspections and tests, as needed</li><li>
Other duties, as assigned</li></ul>
Minimum Qualifications:<ul><li>

Quality Technician I - 3rd Shift

The Warranty Analyst is responsible for providing leadership and direction to exceed quality standards and customers&rsquo; expectations with continuous improvements to reduce labor and material costs.<ul><li>This position is primarily remote, with onsite attendance expected approximately two times per month.</li></ul>

Set up all necessary connections for the Service Technicians on the road; this would include flights, rental cars, hotels, money, and working locations.</li><li>
Develop a list of emergency contacts for all Service Technicians when on the road.</li><li>
Maintain a strong background of new products developed by [business].</li><li>
Exhibit good computer skills using One-World and Microsoft Office systems.</li><li>

We are looking for a dynamic Supplier Quality Engineer to launch new suppliers and support the facility into production. As a Supplier Quality Engineer, your mission is to continuously improve safety, quality, business, and manufacturing processes with an emphasis on eliminating process waste. The use of structured quality improvement tools is required through validation of the production processes. You will design new processes and re-engineer existing processes to produce outcomes that meet safety, quality, and business expectations.<ul><li>
Validate production processes to ensure potential failure risks are considered and mitigated on the suppliers FMEA and Process Control Plans</li><li>
Promote SPC and error proofing internally and externally with suppliers where there is risk of common mistakes and/or significant failure</li><li>
Provide support as needed and work with suppliers to prioritize defects using tools such as Pareto charts and trend charts. Apply structured problem-solving methods to identify true root causes and implement effective corrective actions, including fishbone diagrams, 5 Why analysis, histograms, SPC, FMEA, benchmarking, brainstorming, 5S, correlation analysis, error proofing, Cpk, Ppk, corrective action matrices, and continual improvement control plans.</li><li>
Revise procedures to drive process improvement.</li><li>
Investigate/analyze and benchmark industry practices for process validation assessments.</li><li>
Implement effective corrective and preventative actions utilizing structured planning methods.
</li><li>Coordinate and work cross-functionally with Employee Teams, Quality, Engineering, Contracts, Sales and Manufacturing to improve processes. Accurately maintain company records and documents in accordance with policies and procedures.
