Position: Finishing Technician III

Job Summary: 
To provide onsite installation of Stainless Tubing while performing functions onsite utilizing skills requiring Pipe Bending, Welding, use of Fasteners &amp; Clamps, installing Valves, Regulators and other Finishing System equipment to deliver Paint to manual or automated Finishing Systems. Assembly of sheet metal enclosures such as Spray Booth, Ductwork, etc. Also providing repair and preventive maintenance services for qualified customer equipment at FACT and customer locations diagnosing, quoting &amp; repairing Spray Guns, Pumps and other Finishing Equipment as needed. Have strong computer/electronics knowledge - some equipment requires electronic troubleshooting and basic programming.
 
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Assemble pre-fabricated or custom cut (by Technician) Stainless Tubing to deliver Paint to an Industrial Finishing Paint Line, Spray Booth or other enclosure</li>
<li>Installation of Fluid Regulators, Ball Valves and other Finishing Equipment at Customer location per job spec and need</li>
<li>Interpret Blueprints, Bill of Materials and Handwritten sketches of installation requirements, equipment placement, location and pipe routing</li>
<li>Use of Pipe Bending Tools &amp; Equipment, Welders &amp; other implements for project installations</li>
</ul><ul><li>Troubleshoot, repair and service customer equipment by diagnosing equipment problems
</li><li>Perform product training for customers as part of a preventative maintenance program</li>
<li>Perform basic training on standard equipment for other technicians</li>
<li>Responsible for providing field service on basic preventative maintenance, and maintenance support of industrial automation equipment</li>
<li>Answer customer inquiries regarding repair questions</li>
<li>Prepare documentation regarding work performed and enter in computer</li>
<li>Prepare repaired/serviced customer equipment for shipping</li>
<li>Establish and maintain relationships with key vendor contacts for service and repair</li>
<li>Maintain demonstration equipment including performance test before use, document and track use by employees or customers, flush/clean/repair as needed upon return from use, test and put into storage when done.</li>
<li>Participate in product training, as required</li>
<li>Participate in product demonstrations with salespeople in our lab and in the field.</li>
<li>Participate in establishment of contracts for repair and maintenance service.</li>
<li>Assist in lab clean-up and review for safety issues.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications
<ul>
<li>High school graduation or equivalency; emphasis on office, shop or other skills</li>
<li>Ability to travel up to 50% of the time; overnight travel may be required</li>
<li>Minimum 2 years' experience in skilled trades; or proven equivalent experience</li>
<li>Ability to obtain within the first 6 months of role, from primary vendors of the Finishing, Dispensing &amp; Filtration group (Graco, GEMA, Fanuc, Sames, CFT, etc.)</li>
<li>Minimum 2 years' experience of at least 2 of the following: Finishing processes and equipment, Pump and pump motor, routing and installation of tubing and piping, or other related industry exposure</li>
<li>Proven mechanical and electrical knowledge sufficient to diagnose and resolve equipment problems</li>
<li>Proven experience in disassembling equipment needing repair, diagnosing problems, cleaning and refurbishing/replacing parts as needed, reassemble, and test</li>
<li>Proven experience in using/operating tools such as wrenches, drivers, and power tools, etc</li>
<li>Proven experience reading and understanding documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence.</li>
<li>Proven experience in effectively communicating information and responding to questions in person-to person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public and other employees of the organization.</li>
<li>Familiarity with 5S</li>
<li>Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)</li>
<li>Ability to understand written and oral English and be proficient with computer, email, spreadsheets and look up documents online</li>
<li>Ability to learn and use OTC's computer systems to create and maintain required records regarding equipment repair and service</li>
<li>Ability to operate forklift, and a pallet jack, Scissor Lift</li>
<li>Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job</li>
<li>Valid driver's license with driving record acceptable to OTC insurance company</li>
<li>Must be able to work in an environment with possible paint and solvent odors present</li>
<li>Ability to work in environments that may include:</li>
