Experience</b></h4>
Preferred<ul><li>
Knowledgeable in automotive low voltage electrical wire harness design, fusing, construction, and component selection</li><li>
Experience working with vehicle communication networks (CAN, LIN, SENT, ethernet) and tools to monitor and log them, as well as diagnostic protocols. (VehicleSpy, CANalyzer, PCAN)
</li><li>Awareness of automotive quality processes, PPAP, APQP, FMEA, 8D</li><li>
Catia, Solidworks or NX CAE modeling experience preferred</li><li>
Prior work using Mathworks Simulink, StateFlow or equivalent tools desired
</li><li>Working knowledge of Battery Electric Vehicles and battery pack architectures preferred</li></ul><p>

Senior Engineer, Vehicle Systems Engineering

<p></p><div><p><b>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</b></p>
<ul>
<li> Build parametric NX models and drawings for the fiberglass tub, claddings, fascia, dash/IP structure, and hood mechanism; release in Teamcenter (TC)</li>
<li> Drive A/B/C-surface development with PDO (Product Design Office): manage interfaces, parting lines, drafts, radii, and attachment strategies without breaking the theme</li>
<li> Iterate multiple concepts quickly for studio reviews; document pros/cons, mass/cost impact, and feasibility</li>
<li> Define laminate stackups, cores, reinforcements, and hardpoints for fiberglass/composite parts; specify inserts, bonding, and local doublers</li>
<li> Own gap &amp; flush targets and fit/finish at Class-A: datum scheme, locator strategy, tolerance stacks, and build validation</li>
<li> Engineer the hood mechanism end-to-end (hinges, latch/secondary, counterbalance, stops, slam loads, cycle life, service access)</li>
<li> Lead supplier DFM/DFA for composite and plastic processes (hand layup, RTM/VARTM, SMC/compression molding, trimming/fixtures, gel-coat/paint), plus mechanism manufacture and assembly</li>
<li> Create and maintain the BOM, interface control documents (ICDs), and change management (ECR/ECO)</li>
<li> Run quick checks in SimSolid/Ansys or hand calcs for stiffness, local bearing/crush, bracket loads, and hood slam; coordinate physical tests and CMM/fixture checks</li>
<li> Support prototype builds and issue closure at Alpha/Beta/DV/PV; track quality (S&amp;R, water/dust sealing, squeak/rattle countermeasures)</li>
<li> Work across Studio, Vehicle Packaging, Chassis, Thermal, EE, and Manufacturing to land hardpoints and assembly sequence</li></ul><p></p><h4 class="jobSectionHeader"><b><br>
Experience</b></h4>
Required<ul><li>
Strong NX part/assembly/drafting skills; Teamcenter release experience</li><li>
Hands-on experience with fiberglass/composite design (laminates, cores, bonding, inserts) and DFM with suppliers</li><li>
Proven ownership of gap &amp; flush, datuming, and tolerance stacks for Class-A exterior parts</li><li>
Ability to justify decisions with first-principles reasoning, quick FEA, and hand calculations</li></ul>
Preferred<ul><li>
Mechanism design for closures (hoods, lids, latches, hinges, gas struts) and durability/cycle testing.</li><li>
Mechanism design for closures (hoods, lids, latches, hinges, gas struts) and durability/cycle testing.</li><li>
Dimensional control and fixtures (CMM strategy, locator design, SPC); experience with 3DCS or similar.</li><li>
Sealing and NVH for off-road (dust/water ingress, rattle control).</li><li>
