JOB OVERVIEW:Outlaw Conversions employs people that thrive in a fast-paced environment, who can adapt to the needs of the manufacturing industry and the workflow of a busy production floor. Local manufacturing plant is looking for skilled Purchasing Clerk to buy raw materials, and other goods necessary for the production line. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a problem-solving attitude, and a commercial mindset. The goal for this position is to raise profit margins by making the most high-quality and cost-effective purchases by acquiring supplies that are critical for the success of our business operationsRESPONSIBILITIES:<ul><li>Research, track, and resolve parts issues, orders, and/or problems.</li><li>Compiles available stock data and orders to maintain optimum inventory levels.</li><li>Maintain open lines of communication with vendors to ensure the availability of raw materials and other goods.</li><li>Maintains accurate records on alternate vendors or similar/replacement stock options.</li><li>Support supervisory and executive staff by performing purchasing and clerical functions</li></ul>MAIN TASKS:<ul><li>Responsible for the receipt, ordering, and processing of purchase requests</li><li>Creates/manages/follows up on purchase orders.</li><li>Enters necessary invoices, purchase orders, and receipts as directed by accounting department to close out month end.</li><li>Works with warehouse and shipping/receiving to prepare/process receivers.</li><li>Assists with data entry into existing inventory program and manages checks and balances of that system through cycle counts &amp; inventory counts.</li><li>Monitors stock levels for stock parts</li><li>Prepares and implements effective negotiation tactics with vendors for lead times and pricing.</li><li>Manages relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery, and compliance of terms of contracts.</li><li>Works with warehouse and shipping/receiving in reviewing delivered goods/materials to ensure quality and minimize after-delivery returns.</li><li>Prepares and submits detail reports to supervisors and executive staff as requested (revenues, buying expenditures, purchasing strategies, etc.).</li><li>Reconciles daily cc use.</li><li>Assists in maintaining weekly budget as overseen by purchasing manager and accounting.</li></ul>REQUIREMENTS:<ul><li>Highschool diploma; advanced education preferred.</li><li>Purchasing/buying/procurement experience working in a manufacturing purchasing or managing products.</li><li>Ability to work in fast-paced environment with a strong bias for action.</li><li>High attention to detail, complete, accurate, and timely completion of responsibilities</li><li>Highly effective oral and written English communication skills.</li><li>Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Quick Books.</li><li>Positive attitude willing to help where needed.</li><li>Team player and able to work with and collaborate well with others.</li></ul>WORK ENVIRONMENT: Spends 75% of time in office environment, 25% in shop. Exposed to possible hazards such as heavy equipment and loud noise.PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Spends 75% of time sitting and operating a computer or workstation. Spends 25% of time standing, walking.
