<div>Functions:
Technicians perform various automotive and construction equipment repairs including preventive maintenance, annual inspection, brakes, steering, tires and light engine work. New vehicle upfitting with tracking/safety devices. In addition, some light body repairs or fabrication as required. The mechanic will perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Requirements:<ul><li>
Experienced in regular vehicle maintenance, trailers, diesel is a plus</li><li>
State mechanical certifications preferred but not required</li><li>
Light/heavy automotive or equipment-related electrical knowledge preferred but not required</li><li>
Chauffeur's license preferred, or test to be passed within the first 90 days of employment.</li><li>
An excellent driving record is required.</li><li>
Must be able to pass a DOT physical with two-year medical card.</li><li>
Basic tool set. Snap On &amp; Matco tool trucks are available for purchase. Specialty tools like (scanners, torches, welders etc) are provided by the shop.</li><li>
How to lift vehicles with 4 point &amp; drive on lifts</li><li>
Work in a team environment and communicate professionally with others</li></ul>
Physical attributes:<ul><li>
Must be able to safely lift up to 50 lbs.</li><li>
Able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel and sit.</li><li>
Able to use hands, fingers, handle or feel and reach out with hands and arms extensively.</li><li>
Climbing stairs, ladders or sloped grades and walking on uneven terrain.</li><li>
Ability to see up close and at a distance.</li><li>
Exposure to moving mechanical parts and/or machinery and excessive noise.</li></ul>
