<div>Laboratory Assistant &ndash; Microbiology (Phlebotomy Certified)
Under the guidance and supervision of a Laboratory Technologist and/or Technician, assists in the technical processing of patient specimens. Works in the Microbiology Department performing specimen set-ups and quality control (QC) procedures while also supporting specimen collection through phlebotomy.
Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Assist with the technical processing and preparation of patient specimens
</li><li>Perform specimen set-ups for microbiology testing
</li><li>Conduct and document quality control (QC) procedures as required
</li><li>Monitor and record temperatures of laboratory refrigerators and incubators
</li><li>Maintain accurate documentation and follow laboratory protocols
</li><li>Ensure compliance with laboratory safety and infection control standards
</li><li>Support laboratory staff in maintaining an organized and efficient work environment
</li><li>Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection as needed (phlebotomy duties)
</li></ul>Qualifications:
<ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent required
</li><li>Basic knowledge of laboratory technical procedures in the microbiology department preferred
</li><li>Ability to follow detailed instructions and laboratory protocols
</li><li>Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
</li><li>Ability to work effectively as part of a laboratory team
</li><li>Phlebotomy certification required</li></ul></div>
