A Freight Broker acts as a key intermediary between shippers (clients) and carriers (transport companies). Your primary responsibility will be to identify, negotiate, and contract with carriers, while also sourcing and managing business from shippers. You&rsquo;ll ensure shipments are arranged efficiently, communication is seamless, and both shippers and carriers are satisfied throughout the transport process.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Carrier &amp; Shipper Management</li><li>Source and vet reputable carriers to meet client needs.</li><li>Build and maintain long-term relationships with both shippers and carriers.</li><li>Negotiate rates and terms with carriers and shippers to ensure profitability and service excellence.</li><li>Load Coordination &amp; Booking</li><li>Obtain shipping quotes, create and book loads with carriers.</li><li>Coordinate pickup and drop-off schedules.</li><li>Monitor freight transit, track shipments, and proactively resolve issues or delays.</li><li>Sales &amp; Business Development</li><li>Generate new business: identify prospects, cold call, and build a pipeline of shippers / clients.</li><li>Present freight solutions, prepare and send quotes to potential clients.</li><li>Achieve sales targets / revenue goals (depending on company structure).</li><li>Documentation &amp; Compliance</li><li>Prepare and manage key freight documents (e.g., bills of lading).</li><li>Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.</li><li>Maintain accurate records: shipment details, rate confirmations, invoices, claims, etc.</li><li>Customer Service &amp; Issue Resolution</li><li>Act as a point of contact for both shippers and carriers, addressing service gaps or escalations.</li><li>Investigate and resolve claims, damages, or logistics issues.</li><li>Provide timely status updates to clients on their shipments.</li><li>Market Analysis &amp; Strategy</li><li>Stay up to date with freight market trends, pricing dynamics, and capacity fluctuations.</li><li>Analyse lane profitability and adjust strategies accordingly.</li></ul>Qualifications &amp; Skills<ul><li>Education: High school diploma / GED required; Bachelor&rsquo;s in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.</li><li>Experience: 1&ndash;5+ years in freight brokerage, logistics sales, or transportation operations.</li><li>Skills:</li><li>Excellent negotiation and communication skills.</li><li>Strong problem-solving ability and multitasking.</li><li>Analytical mindset to evaluate cost, routing, and carrier performance.</li><li>Sales / business development experience (prospecting, lead generation).</li><li>Proficiency with technology: TMS (Transportation Management Systems), load boards, CRM, Microsoft Office.</li></ul>Job Types: Full-time, PermanentPay: &#8377;25,000.00 - &#8377;50,000.00 per monthWork Location: In person

The Freight Brokerage Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of freight broker activities and building relationships with clients. This position will involve coordinating with freight brokers, carriers, and clients to ensure efficient and cost-effective transportation of goods. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of freight brokerage, supply chain management, and logistics operations, as well as exceptional communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.Key Responsibilities:Broker Management &amp; Coordination:<ul><li>Develop and maintain strong relationships with freight brokers to secure reliable and cost-effective shipping services.</li><li>Oversee the negotiation of rates, terms, and contracts with freight brokers and carriers.</li><li>Ensure that freight brokers are meeting service level agreements (SLAs) and performance standards.</li><li>Review and analyse broker performance metrics, addressing issues of quality, cost, and delivery timelines.</li></ul>Sales &amp; Business Development<ul><li>Prospect and close new freight brokers, shippers, and carrier partners.</li><li>Own the full sales cycle: lead generation, proposal, negotiation, onboarding.</li><li>Develop and execute business plans and sales campaigns.</li></ul>Broker / Carrier Relationship Management<ul><li>Identify, onboard, and maintain strategic broker and carrier relationships.</li><li>Negotiate rates, contracts, and terms.</li><li>Manage broker performance to ensure quality and reliability.</li></ul>Logistics &amp; Operations Optimization:<ul><li>Collaborate with the operations team to determine the most efficient and cost-effective logistics solutions.</li><li>Monitor shipment schedules, ensuring timely pickups and deliveries.</li><li>Continuously assess transportation processes and identify areas for improvement or cost-saving opportunities.</li><li>Implement best practices and standardized procedures for freight brokerage management.</li></ul>Problem-Solving &amp; Issue Resolution:<ul><li>Resolve operational and service-related issues, including delays, claims, and disputes with freight brokers, customers, and carriers.</li><li>Work with the internal team to handle unexpected logistical challenges and find timely solutions.</li><li>Proactively address potential disruptions to the supply chain and work with brokers to mitigate risks.</li></ul>Documentation &amp; Compliance:<ul><li>Ensure all required documentation is completed accurately and promptly (e.g., bills of lading, shipping instructions, freight invoices).</li><li>Monitor and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to shipping and freight brokering.</li><li>Manage payment and invoicing processes, ensuring that all billing disputes are resolved quickly and accurately.</li></ul>Team Leadership &amp; Development:<ul><li>Lead, mentor, and develop a team of logistics coordinators and support staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.</li><li>Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes continuous improvement and high performance.</li><li>Ensure the team stays up to date with industry trends, technology, and best practices.</li></ul>Reporting &amp; Data Analysis:<ul><li>Generate regular reports on freight broker performance, logistics costs, and key performance indicators (KPIs).</li><li>Provide actionable insights to senior management based on data analysis of shipping trends, delays, and cost breakdowns.</li><li>Maintain accurate records of freight broker activities for auditing and reporting purposes.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. (Preferred)</li><li>Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or freight brokering, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.</li><li>In-depth knowledge of freight brokerage operations, including rate negotiation, carrier relationships, and industry regulations.</li><li>Strong understanding of supply chain management, transportation modes, and distribution networks.</li><li>Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Proficiency in logistics software (TMS, WMS, or similar systems) and Microsoft Office Suite.</li><li>Ability to analyse data, solve problems, and make decisions quickly.</li><li>Strong leadership abilities and a track record of team development and performance improvement.</li><li>Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.</li></ul>Preferred Skills &amp; Experience:<ul><li>Certification from the Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA) or similar freight brokering certification.</li><li>Experience working with international shipping and customs regulations.</li><li>Familiarity with emerging technologies in logistics, including automation and digital freight platforms.</li></ul>Job Types: Full-time, PermanentPay: &#8377;50,000.00 - &#8377;100,000.00 per monthWork Location: In person
