Job description:We are seeking a skilled and dependable Billing &amp; Coding Specialist with strong experience across multiple specialties. We are looking for someone who can confidently manage high-volume billing, ensure accurate coding, and support smooth reimbursement workflows for urgent care, orthopedic, and outpatient surgery services.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Accurately code and submit claims for urgent care, orthopedic, and surgery center encounters (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS).</li><li>Process claims for commercial insurance, Medicare, and workers&rsquo; compensation.</li><li>Review and correct coding or documentation issues prior to claim submission.</li><li>Monitor claims through the full revenue cycle: submission, payment posting, follow-up, and appeals.</li><li>Handle claim denials, rejections, and underpayments with thorough follow-up.</li><li>Communicate professionally with insurance carriers, adjusters, and attorney offices (PI cases).</li><li>Prepare billing statements, liens, and medical records requests associated with personal injury cases.</li><li>Maintain internal tracking logs for claims, denials, and follow-up actions.</li><li>Work closely with clinic staff to obtain missing documentation or clarify coding questions.</li><li>Ensure compliance with federal, state, and payer-specific billing guidelines.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>2&ndash;3+ years of medical billing/coding experience (urgent care, ortho, and/or ASC experience strongly preferred).</li><li>Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, modifiers, and insurance billing requirements.</li><li>Experience with personal injury billing, attorney offices, and lien-based cases.</li><li>Familiarity with workers&rsquo; comp billing and authorization workflows.</li><li>Ability to manage denials, appeals, and insurance communication confidently.</li><li>Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.</li><li>Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.</li><li>Experience with EMR/EHR systems and clearinghouse portals.</li></ul>Preferred<ul><li>Certification (CPC, CCA, CCS, or equivalent).</li><li>Experience in billing orthopedic surgeries, injections, PRP, and ancillary procedures.</li><li>Knowledge of surgery center billing and global periods.</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timeExperience:<ul><li>Medical billing: 2 years (Required)</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timePay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hourApplication Question(s):<ul><li>I understand that this is an in-person position.
