The Universal Caregiver is a pivotal member of our Assisted Living and Residential Care Communities. This role involves more direct interaction with residents than any other position. Universal Caregivers are responsible for consistently providing detailed information about resident status, needs, and issues to ensure appropriate actions are taken. They must be vigilant in observing changes in residents&rsquo; health, attitudes, and needs, and effectively communicate these observations. Adaptability is crucial, as Universal Caregivers must respond to the evolving needs of both the facility and its residents. By delivering essential care, they help residents achieve and maintain their highest level of independence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities<ul><li>
Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and getting to and from activities and meals according to the individual service plan in a compassionate and attentive manner.</li><li>
Medication setup and administration, when needed, after training.</li><li>
Update resident records in a timely manner in accordance with company policy and procedures.</li><li>
Report any changes in resident&rsquo;s physical condition and/or behavior and observe/report the health and emotional condition of each resident. Promptly report all changes to supervisor.</li><li>
Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for the residents by:<ul><li>
Performing general housekeeping and deep cleaning as required</li><li>
Following cleaning schedules for resident laundry, bedrooms, dining area, living space, bathrooms, kitchens, and other areas.</li><li>
Cleaning up following all meals, including cleaning dishes, wiping down tables, chairs and sweeping/vacuuming floors to clear any food.</li><li>
Reporting and documenting any safety issues or concerns and addressing if/when appropriate.</li><li>
Collecting garbage from resident rooms each shift. Immediately removing incontinent supplies that are wet or soiled. Removing garbage from the kitchen &amp; laundry room one time per shift. Taking garbage to the dumpster as needed and at least one time per shift.</li></ul></li><li>
Prepare and cook food as required by following posted menus. Assist with serving all meals by bringing residents into the dining room and giving them any assistance, as needed, with their meals. Serve drinks and food to the residents.
</li><li>Assist with daily scheduled activities by setting up per the administrator&rsquo;s direction, engaging with the residents, and documenting resident participation.</li><li>
Attend all staff trainings and in-service meetings as required.</li><li>
Additional duties as assigned by Executive Director or team lead.</li></ul>

Working knowledge of Assisted Living and Residential Care philosophy along with Resident&rsquo;s Rights

Education and/or Experience<ul><li>
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)</li><li>
One to three months related experience and/or training with working with seniors</li><li>
Basic computer skills/knowledge</li><li>
Valid CPR, First Aid and Food Handlers cards (can be acquired during the hiring process)</li><li>
Pre-Service Universal Caregiver training is required but part of your onboarding and training.
</li><li>Ongoing training is provided by the Executive Director and Oregon Care Partners to ensure the highest level of care and adherence to state regulations.</li></ul>
Physical Demands<ul><li>
Frequent standing and walking; occasional sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling and working in confined spaces</li><li>
Lift and/or move residents weighing more than 100 pounds with appropriate assistance or equipment</li><li>
