<div>Pacific Ridge School is an independent, coeducational, college preparatory school in Carlsbad, California with approximately 650 students in grades six through twelve. Position
We seek flexible, dynamic educators for a teaching position in our Arts Department.
This full-time position (80%) will teach three sections. Ideal candidates will be able to teach at the middle and upper school levels and have experience teaching various Digital Arts courses, such as Photography and Graphic Design. In recruiting new members of our faculty, we look for educators who:<ul><li>
Share our commitment to designing and facilitating student-centered experiences at the Harkness table and in studio and computer lab spaces</li><li>
Understand how to instruct students effectively in Adobe software: Illustrator, Lightroom, and Photoshop</li><li>
Know students as individuals and actively cultivate an inclusive learning environment that honors diverse identities, experiences, expressions, and perspectives</li><li>
Believe in the ability of all students to learn deeply and make a priority of responding to their needs</li><li>
Thrive in collaborative settings and pursue opportunities to learn with and from colleagues</li><li>
Engage in reflection around their teaching practice and commit to ongoing professional learning and growth</li><li>
Demonstrate cultural competence and commit inclusivity in their classroom, curriculum, and the larger school community</li><li>
Develop and implement instructional and assessment strategies that deepen learning in the disciplines of studio art, graphic design, digital media, and related subjects</li><li>
Enjoy designing curriculum as part of a teaching team</li></ul>
Responsibilities<ul><li>
Plan for and teach curricula relevant to teaching load</li><li>
Serve on grade-level, departmental, and teaching teams</li><li>
Contribute to the co-curricular program by leading an advisory, club, service learning group, and/or alliance/affinity group as assigned</li><li>
Other responsibilities include chaperoning on-campus events, attending faculty meetings, supporting arts events like Snapshot, Showcase, and Senior Spotlight, and participating in student-led conferences</li></ul>
Salary and Benefits<ul><li>
Compensation is based on an 80% full-time status, years of experience, education, and other factors.</li><li>

Minimum Requirements<ul><li>
Hold an advanced degree in a related field (bachelor&rsquo;s degree required; master&rsquo;s preferred)</li><li>
Have a minimum of three years of art teaching experience at the secondary level</li></ul></div>
