Summary:
The Staffing Optimization analyst is responsible for using critical thinking and data analytical skills to perform facility assessments, compile recommendations, assist with implementation of recommendations and monitor results designed to reduce the overall cost of labor in the hospitals. This position is an independent decision maker regarding the development of plans and actions to apply the organization&rsquo;s staffing and scheduling best practices, policies, and any other contractual constraints. The Staffing Optimization Analyst works in close collaboration with Group, Division, PI labor and facility leaders and executives to ensure optimal utilization to support staffing requirements/expectations. This individual should possess excellent communication, change management, and data analysis skills and a demonstrated track record of delivering results and attaining goals.
Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Perform Flex Path Compliance Audits and provide support for other Financial Resiliency initiatives to include but not limited to PRN utilization, overtime, weekend commitment, and under/over commitment.</li><li>
Responsible for the observations, formulation, and recommendations on facilities scheduling matrix information based on experience and best practices on staffing, floating, and flexing staff for a Division or facility.</li><li>
Actively supports and is a Knowledge Source for optimal use of Timpani and other Timpani enhancements. Enables facilities to actively adopt the Flex Path approach to manage staff to reduce premium labor utilization by leveraging best practices, analyzing opportunities, formulating and assisting with recommendations, monitoring and reporting improvements related to staffing and scheduling within the FS application.</li><li>
Responsible for collaborative interfacing with appropriate resources in the creation of labor allocation plans, communication of plans to Division PI Labor, and facility leadership through the enforcement of the organization&rsquo;s staffing model.</li><li>
The analyst will, monitor key staffing and scheduling metrics to include but not limited to timely posting of schedules, commitment, and schedule healthiness; provide Timpani cleanup and standardization support; monitor and communicate on effective utilization of Full-time, Part-time, PRN, and Contract Labor staff in line with the Flex Path approach.</li><li>
Works with Division PI Labor and facility leadership to collaboratively develop action items to facilitate efficient and effective coordination of staffing and scheduling.</li><li>
Is a resource for Timpani to the Divisions and facilities. Will share best practices, and provide education on the Dashboard.</li><li>
Validates through audits key staff data within Timpani to include but not limited to competencies and/or certification/licensure expirations for staff being scheduled in Timpani.</li><li>
Reviews staffing grids in Timpani to ensure grids are appropriately configured to interface with SGN and are assigned Skills with target values.</li><li>
Mastery of all Information Systems associated with staffing and scheduling management.</li><li>
Produces accurate documentation and data entry that reflects the efforts, communications, and processes associated with filling staffing needs.</li><li>
Builds and maintains strong, effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.</li></ul>

<h5 class="jobSectionHeader">As a work from home Central Coding Director, you will be responsible for assisting in the development and evolution of the overall strategy for Parallon&rsquo;s Coding Physician Service Center. The Central Coding Director is responsible for overall coding compliance and daily coding operations for the Coding Physician Service Center. The Central Coding Director interprets policies and procedures, recommends changes as appropriate, and provides relevant feedback. The Central Coding Director assists the ACOO, Coding PSC, with the oversight and implementation of coding consolidation planning, practice expectation agreements, budgets, workflow processes and internal controls. As a Profee Coder, you will be responsible for reviewing and coding clinical notes and operative reports for a minimum of one specialty. You will provide feedback and documentation advice to the physician, practice management, and other coders. You will also work with the denials team to resolve coding-related denials. You will be a key promoter of Central Coding and responsible for setting the tone of the Coding Physician Service Center as a service organization, continuously seeking to understand, meet, and exceed customer expectations and needs.
What you will do in this role:<ul><li>
Reviews and codes clinical notes and operative reports for assigned specialty/specialties.
</li><li>Coordinates and reconciles multiple schedules to ensure complete charge capture.
</li><li>Charge entry of codes into billing system in a timely manner.
</li><li>Work in conjunction with A/R team on follow up and resolution of coding related denials and rejections, including recommendation of new/updated coding edits.

Job Summary and Qualifications</h5>
The Billing Integrity Analyst Register Nurse (RN) is responsible for determining the appropriateness of patient charges, and Charge Description Master (CDM) assigned HCPCS/CPTs, by reviewing the medical record, facility protocol, and other applicable documentation. This review includes the verification of billing data for accuracy and completeness, following regulatory requirements, in order to resolve edits or exceptions detected during system processing of the claim in Patient Accounting, Relay Health or the payer. Applies modifiers when appropriate based on this review, and/or makes necessary adjustments to patient account charges and/or balances. Analyzes accounts for specialized billing requirements that require a review of the medical record documentation, regulatory information, and HCA standards. Uses clinical expertise when applicable to perform charge reviews and/or works on edits that are deemed appropriate for only an RN to be qualified to review and resolve. Combines or splits accounts as appropriate. Serves as a liaison between facilities Administration, Shared Services Center, and ancillary department directors regarding charging issues, clinical documentation issues and revenue opportunities. Provides charge review results and develops and coordinates educational in-services for facility staff related to charging/billing issues. Coordinates retrospective, concurrent, patient requested, and external billing audits. Reviews denial trends for documentation and charging opportunities. Serves as a primary contact for charge related SSC and facility inquiries and issues.
In this role you will:<ul><li>
Analyze and resolve specific billing edits that require an RNs clinical expertise and that are delaying claims from processing in the Patient Accounting and/or Relay Health systems. This includes the verification (and/or correction) of billing data for accuracy and completeness, by following regulatory requirements, and reviewing the medical record, facility protocol, and other applicable documentation. This also includes the application of modifiers and condition codes, as appropriate.
</li><li>Identify charging, coding, or clinical documentation issues and work with appropriate leadership and ancillary departments to resolve issues.
</li><li>Perform charge audits reviews by verifying billing data as compared to documentation and making corrections in Patient Accounting as needed.
</li><li>Analyze charge review findings, provide recommendations to facility ancillary department directors in order to improve documentation, charging flow, and accuracy.</li><li>
Serve as chargemaster liaison to facilitate clinical department education on appropriate charging of CPT codes, Revenue Codes, and communicating with Ancillary Departments to resolve issues. Coordinates updates (activate, inactivate, modification) with Ancillary Departments as necessary
</li><li>Performs assigned charge reviews (governmental, corporate, insurance defense, patient requested, collections, denials, focused review, SPAEs, cosmetics, etc.) by researching documentation, analyzing information, entering all corrections as needed and communicating error trends to provide process improvement opportunities.
</li><li>Review Regulatory and Compliance Communications, applicable CMS transmittals, and Local Coverage Decisions (LCD). Assess impact to Billing Integrity procedures and implement changes as needed. Perform NCD LCD Coverage review when requested.
</li><li>Participate in customer service events at the facility such as facility FECC Committee, new director onboarding, charge education and report charging issues as appropriate.</li></ul>
Qualifications:<ul><li>
RN or other advanced nursing degree required</li><li>
Active Registered Nurse License or other advanced nursing license required. Compact license for all states accepted.</li><li>
Healthcare experience in an acute care hospital or coding experience preferred. Knowledge of CPT/HCPCS codes or experience in charging or performing charge reviews</li></ul>

Review Regulatory and Compliance Communications, applicable CMS transmittals, and Local Coverage Decisions (LCD). Assess impact to Billing Integrity procedures and implement changes as needed.</li><li>
Maintain billing education, attend webcasts and conference calls as required.</li></ul>
Qualifications:
<ul><li>Associate Degree or above; or healthcare license/certification required.</li><li>
Minimum 1 year directly related Healthcare experience or coding experience required.</li><li>
Knowledge of CPT/HCPCS codes or experience in charging or performing charging validation reviews preferred.</li><li>
Healthcare certification/licensure such as RHIT, CCS, CCP,CPC or other recognized AHIMA certified coding credential, LPN, LVN, RT, PT, etc., can be accepted lieu of degree with work experience.</li></ul>
