 The live services platform distributes live events for Paramount+ and live video streams with reliability first, turning chaos into order through clear ownership, hardened workflows, and disciplined operations. It absorbs pressure, minimizes latency, and recovers fast, so moments that cannot be replayed arrive on time and endure without spectacle.
 
 
 We are seeking a Backend Engineer to join our CMS Backend team. This role is for someone who treats reliability as a feature&mdash;an engineer who is motivated to track down errors, avoid anti-patterns, and help ensure our systems expose problems instead of hiding them. You will contribute to building, maintaining, and scaling high-traffic backend services, while practicing sound system engineering and communicating effectively with teammates, stakeholders, and product managers. You are a self‑motivated engineer who values reliability, maintainable code, and strong team practices. You take pride in reducing technical debt, uncovering hidden issues, and promoting transparency, observability, and accountability in modern backend systems.
 
 
 
 Responsibilities Include:
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Build and evolve Java/Spring Boot backend services for a live-event metadata platform backed by relational databases.
 </li>
 <li>
 Deliver features with a reliability-first mindset, supported by metrics and production dashboards.
 </li>
 <li>
 Write clear, debuggable code and tools that surface failures early and reveal system behavior.
 </li>
 <li>
 Apply observability best practices with meaningful metrics, structured logs, and traces in microservices.
 </li>
 <li>
 Collaborate with senior engineers, product managers, and cross-functional partners on scalable solutions.
 </li>
 <li>
 Contribute through code reviews, design discussions, and shared engineering standards.
 </li>
 <li>
 Content Management Platform: Support creation and distribution of live event metadata consumed by multiple downstream systems.
 </li>
 <li>
 Live Channel Orchestration: Help build and maintain services coordinating live video streaming channels and pipelines across the full event lifecycle.
 </li>
 <li>
 Media Asset Management: Contribute to systems handling ingest, organization, processing, and lifecycle management of media assets.
 </li>
 <li>
 Consumer Metadata Services: Develop backend components responsible for delivering accurate, low-latency metadata to consumer-facing applications, with an emphasis on live content.
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 Basic Qualifications You Bring:
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
 </li>
 <li>
 3+ experience developing Spring Boot microservices in Java (prefer Java 17 or newer).
 </li>
 <li>
 Background in helping with designing and implementing RESTful APIs, with an understanding of API contracts and integration patterns.
 </li>
 <li>
 Hands-on experience integrating with external systems using REST and/or EDA.
 </li>
 <li>
 Comfortable documenting and describing APIs using OpenAPI/Swagger specifications.
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience working with data formats such as JSON and XML.
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience writing automated unit tests for Java services using frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito, with attention to code coverage, readability, and maintainability.
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience building and working with databases using MySQL or PostgreSQL.
 </li>
 <li>
 Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 Bonus Skills:

 Familiarity with developing brand maintaining cloud-based applications and workflows.
 </li>
 <li>
 Familiarity with working with a major cloud provider such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

 <li>
 Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools, including Docker and k8s.
 </li>
 <li>
 Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, Argo, or Jenkins.
 </li>

 Some exposure to observability practices within microservice architectures, including metrics, logging, tracing, and dashboard usage.

 Basic working knowledge of NoSQL databases, such as ScyllaDB or MongoDB.

 Hiring Salary Range: $110,000.00 - 145,000.00.
 
 
 The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.

Within the Data &amp; Insights Group (DIG), the Global Content &amp; Lifecycle Analytics team plays a critical role in guiding the company&rsquo;s success. We inform business, content, product, marketing, and operational decisions through rich data, strategic insights, and advanced analytical models, tools, and products.
 
 
 We are seeking an Analyst who is excited about data and entertainment and thrives in a dynamic environment! This role is centered on Paramount+, our flagship SVOD service, featuring an extensive library of content from CBS, MTV Entertainment Group, Nickelodeon, and Showtime, along with hit originals such as Landman, Tulsa King, The Chi, Mobland, and Yellowjackets. Paramount+ is also home to iconic entertainment and sports franchises including South Park, SpongeBob SquarePants, the NFL, UFC, UEFA, and more.
 
 
 As an Analyst on the Global Content &amp; Lifecycle Analytics team, you will deliver clear, actionable insights that inform strategy across Paramount+. This role brings together data from multiple systems to uncover opportunities, assess risks, and identify emerging trends, translating complex analyses into concise, compelling narratives for partners across the DTC organization, including senior management. Through rigorous evaluation and close cross-functional collaboration, you will help drive decisions that optimize the subscriber lifecycle and maximize the global impact of Paramount+ content.
 
 
 
 Responsibilities Include:
 
 
 
 <ul>

 Define, develop, and maintain key performance indicators and reporting frameworks that inform content, marketing, and broader business strategy for Paramount+.
 </li>
 <li>
 Write efficient SQL (BigQuery) queries to extract, transform, and analyze data in response to business questions from stakeholders at all levels.
 </li>
 <li>
 Conduct advanced analysis of content performance, subscriber lifecycle dynamics, and audience behavior to identify opportunities that drive interaction, retention, and growth.
 </li>
 <li>
 Use statistical analysis to develop and enhance models centered around content. This includes valuation, attribution, optimization.
 </li>
 <li>
 Build and maintain intuitive dashboards using tools such as Tableau, Looker/Data Studio, and Adobe Analytics, enabling self-service insights for non-technical users.
 </li>
 <li>
 Stay current on industry and competitive trends, evaluating potential implications for content strategy and the subscriber experience.
 </li>
 <li>
 Partner with measurement operations and data engineering teams to ensure proper tracking, data quality, and data structures that enable both robust analysis and scalable reporting.
 </li>
 <li>
 Improve data pipelines and develop analytical data sets that support modeling, real-time reporting, and deeper content and subscription insights.
 </li>
 <li>
 Present analytical findings and strategic recommendations in a clear, concise, and compelling manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.

 Basic Qualifications You&rsquo;ll Bring:

 Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.

 Experience in web analytics, digital media, streaming, or related analytical roles; internship or early-career experience acceptable.

 Knowledge of statistical modeling techniques (e.g., regression, clustering, forecasting) and experience applying them to consumer behavior or content performance.
