About the Role:</b></p><p>
The Hardware Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing complex hardware systems that meet rigorous performance, reliability, and cost requirements. This role involves collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including software engineers, product managers, and manufacturing to ensure seamless integration and functionality of hardware components. The engineer will lead efforts in system-level troubleshooting, validation, and testing to guarantee that hardware solutions comply with industry standards and customer specifications. Additionally, the position requires continuous evaluation of emerging technologies to innovate and improve existing hardware architectures. Ultimately, the Hardware Systems Engineer will deliver robust and scalable hardware solutions that drive the success of the company&rsquo;s products in the competitive marketplace.</p><p><b>
Required Skills and Experience:</b></p><div><ul><li>
Knowledge of PCI Express, DDR or other high-speed interfaces, preferably with practical experience.</li><li>
Knowledge of Ethernet down to the physical layer, preferably with practical experience.</li><li>
Knowledge of basic serial communication interfaces like I2C and USB, preferably with practical experience.</li><li>
Knowledge of SoC FPGA design, preferably with practical experience.</li><li>
Experience with design and debug of HDL coding (VHDL, Verilog/System Verilog) targeting communication signal processing and low latency processing.</li><li>
Good understanding of practical techniques for noise reduction / control and electrical susceptibility immunity.</li><li>
Successful track record of completed design efforts.</li></ul></div><p><b>
Desired Skills and Experience:</b></p><div><ul><li>
Expert knowledge of hardware technologies with 7 years of relevant industry experience.</li><li>
Experience dealing with timing constraints and closing timing on FPGA designs.</li><li>
Familiarity with basic DSP functional blocks such as filtering and FFT.</li><li>
Previously performed high-speed signal integrity analysis.</li><li>
Experience with RF design and debug techniques.</li><li>
Exposure to, and experience with, EMC/EMI and Environmental qualification processes.</li><li>
Scripting capabilities like Python for debug tools and testing.</li></ul></div><p><b>
Responsibilities:</b></p><div><ul><li>
Develop hardware design specifications based on requirements, or concept sketches.</li><li>
Perform technical planning, circuit level design, implementation, verification, formal Acceptance and Production tests.</li><li>
Perform system-level analysis through all phases of the product design cycle: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, and maintenance.</li><li>
Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule and cost constraints.</li><li>
Perform functional analysis, timing analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition to address customer requirements.</li><li>
Lead and actively participate in hardware design including architecture plan, generation of functional block diagrams, state diagrams, and schematics.</li><li>
Perform design analysis including circuit modeling and simulation, field programmable gate array (FPGA) simulations, signal integrity modeling, power analysis, failure mode analysis, and manufacturability analysis.</li><li>
Implementation of the design including oversight of layout, support procurement of first article and debug of the first article build.</li><li>
Write and review design, release, and support documentation: design review documents, production manuals, interface control documents, test procedures, etc.</li><li>
Active coordination with other departments for system integration, software integration, testing, and production throughout the design effort.</li><li>
Support co-worker development efforts and solicit assistance when necessary or appropriate.</li><li>
Provide maintenance support of existing products for adding enhancements, handling parts obsolescence and corrective actions.</li><li>
Execute tasks in accordance with QMS processes and procedures.</li></ul></div><p><b>
Toolsets:</b></p><div><ul><li>
Proficiency using simulation tools such as Riviera Pro, Active-HDL, Questa, VCS, and MATLAB.</li><li>
Proficiency with FPGA implementation tools such as Quartus Prime and AMD-Xilinx Vivado and Vitis toolsets.</li><li>
Experience with Cadence, PSPICE, and Microsoft Office.</li><li>
Proficiency with classic hardware lab tools such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and function generators.</li></ul></div><p><b>
Job Type:</b> Full-Time/Regular</p><p><b>
Years of Experience:</b> 7+ Years; early to mid-career hardware engineer with telecommunications and/or telemetry data systems background desired</p><p><b>
Minimum Level of Education:</b> 4-Year Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in electrical engineering (BSEE) or Master&rsquo;s degree in electrical engineering (MSEE) preferred; a 4-year Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in a related technical discipline such as Computer Engineering will also be considered.</p><p><b>
Travel:</b> Minimal travel required</p><p><b>
Salary Range:</b></p><p>
$120,000 - $150,000</p><p><b>
Clearance:</b> Clearance is not required immediately, but the candidate must be able to qualify.</p><p><b>
