How will you impact?

Lead a cross-functional engineering team responsible for partner enablement, technical strategy, architecture, engineering quality, and delivery. Own the technical direction of the team while collaborating with Product, TPMs, architects, and globally distributed engineering teams. 
Your key responsibilities: 
<ul>
<li>Lead and mentor engineers through coaching, technical guidance, and performance feedback.</li>
<li>Own architecture decisions, scalability, reliability, and operational excellence.</li>
<li>Drive sprint planning, backlog prioritization, and engineering delivery.</li>
<li>Partner with business and technical stakeholders to define solutions.</li>
<li>Guide modernization of legacy applications toward modern engineering practices.</li>
<li>Support production incidents and continuous improvement initiatives.</li>
<li>Champion engineering excellence through automation, testing, observability, and DevOps.</li></ul> 


What you'll bring to the role:
<ul>
<li>7+ years building enterprise software.</li>
<li>2+ years leading engineering teams.</li>
<li>Strong Java expertise.</li>
<li>Deep AWS knowledge including CloudFormation.</li>
<li>Experience designing distributed systems.</li>
<li>Excellent communication and stakeholder management.</li>
<li>Advanced level english communication</li></ul>

How will you impact? 
At Parser, we build the infrastructure that powers enterprise customer communications at scale. We're looking for a Senior Java Engineer who brings deep backend expertise, with a DevOps mindset, and a passion for building reliable, high-quality systems that make a real difference to customers. 
Your key responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable customer communication solutions, with a focus on Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and related enterprise tools</li>
<li>Developing high-quality backend services in Java (Spring Boot)</li>
<li>Building and operating cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure, using Terraform for Infrastructure as Code</li>
<li>Championing CI/CD best practices to enable seamless, confident software delivery</li>
<li>Taking ownership of system reliability, maintainability, and performance</li>
<li>Producing clear, thorough documentation that supports team velocity and system longevity</li></ul>

<li>Monitoring: Splunk, New Relic, xMatters</li>
<li>Version Control: GitHub</li>
<li>Tooling: Zendesk, JIRA</li></ul> 


What you'll bring to the role:
<ul>
<li>6+ years of hands-on experience delivering production Java applications</li>
<li>Strong understanding of Spring Boot and microservices architecture</li>
<li>Experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or similar enterprise content/communication platforms</li>
<li>Proficiency with cloud platforms - Azure preferred; AWS or GCP also valued</li>
<li>Familiarity with Terraform or other IaC tooling (or a genuine drive to get up to speed)</li>
<li>Experience with CI/CD pipelines - e.g. GitHub Actions</li>
<li>Solid grasp of both SQL and NoSQL databases</li>
<li>Excellent communication skills and comfort working in an Agile (Scrum/Kanban) environment</li></ul> 


Nice to Have:
<ul>
<li>Experience with JVM languages beyond Java (Kotlin, Scala, Groovy)</li>
<li>Exposure to TypeScript or Node.js for a full-stack context</li>
<li>Background in system design and distributed systems</li>
<li>Proficiency in Python for scripting or data-adjacent tooling</li>
<li>Familiarity with LLMs, model architectures, and MCP, and experience integrating or building AI-powered features</li>
<li>Understanding of Kubernetes - container orchestration, scaling strategies, networking, and resource management</li></ul> 


Location:

Candidates based in UK/London: Hybrid model, 2-3 days per week in the office at Welwyn Garden City
