Salary: $39,000 
 
Requirements / Licensures: This position requires a high school diploma with billing or coding certificate. Proficient use with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, &amp; Outlook) is required. 
 
Duties/Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Billing Medicaid claims using computerized billing program and check billing logs for completion/errors</li>
<li>Ensure proper use of ICD-10 codes</li>
<li>Ensure proper usage of CPT/HCPS codes</li>
<li>Manage assigned workflows to include follow up on status claims, denials and appeals for timely receipt of payment</li>
<li>Contact insurance companies regarding denied claims</li>
<li>Send appeals to insurance companies with appropriate documentation</li>
<li>Answer billing inquiries from patients, staff, and insurance companies and resolve complaints</li>
<li>Correct and resubmit claims after confirming transmission errors with the payer</li>
</ul>
 
Experience or Skill Set Required:
<ul><li>Working knowledge of medical billing</li>
<li>Excellent customer service skills</li>
<li>Critical thinking on every aspect of claim submission</li>
<li>Ability to compose effective appeals</li>
<li>Ability to work independently and as a part of a team</li>
<li>Ability to work in a fast paced, expanding organization</li>
<li>Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Billing software, 10-key, ICD-10 coding, and medical terminology</li>
<li>Experience with HIPAA and compliance-sensitive environments</li>
<li>Strong attention to detail, and ability to collaborate independently and within a team</li>
<li>Position is located on-site, not a remote position.</li></ul></div>
