Patient First

<div><div>The responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to the following:</div><ul><li>
Locating patients, obtaining accurate vital signs by visual and auditory measures, triaging patients, assessing patients&rsquo; medical condition, and preparing patients for physicals and medical treatment by Physicians and Nurses;</li><li>
Understanding and using the electronic medical record system;</li><li>
Ordering lab, x-ray, and medical supplies as directed;</li><li>
Notifying the Nurse and/or Physician when the patient is ready for exam while communicating symptoms and relaying questions about lab or x-ray needs;</li><li>
Assisting Nurses and Physicians with various forms of patient treatment and care;</li><li>
Handling Physician and Nurse requests with respect and in a timely manner;</li><li>
Performing lab duties as assigned;</li><li>
Performing phlebotomy procedures;</li><li>
Sterilizing and setting up instruments;</li><li>
Receiving and storing supplies; restocking treatment rooms as needed;</li><li>
Reporting to the Charge Nurse before leaving at the end of the shift;</li><li>
Following ancillary guidelines as deemed necessary by the Charge Nurse, Nurse Supervisor, DMS, and Physician;</li><li>
Adhering to established policies and procedures;</li><li>
Maintaining cleanliness of the treatment area and completing biological cleanup in accordance with OSHA guidelines and other maintenance assignments as directed;</li><li>
Washing, drying, folding, and restocking laundry; maintaining the cleanliness of the washing machine and dryer lint trap;</li><li>
Attending staff meetings as scheduled by the Nurse Supervisor or DMS;</li><li>
Operating, using, and maintaining medical and office equipment as trained;</li><li>
Completing assigned checklists and Policy Manager tasks within the assigned shift;</li><li>
Being available to assist as needed, as breaks and mealtimes may be interrupted at any time to provide necessary patient care or to maintain center operations;</li><li>
Fostering teamwork and ensuring a positive and professional atmosphere;</li><li>
Providing positive, warm, and friendly service in all interactions;</li><li>
Understanding and performing all duties as assigned.</li></ul><div></div><div>
Minimum education and professional requirements include, but are not limited to, the following:</div><ul><li>
Must be 18 years of age or older;</li><li>
Minimum typing experience;</li><li>
High school graduate or equivalent;</li><li>
Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a hospital or physician&rsquo;s office preferred;</li><li>
Ability to hear pages, bells, and phone system;</li><li>
Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time (possibly 4 to 7 hours at a time);</li><li>
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds;</li><li>
Ability to attend scheduled CPR classes and code drills;</li><li>
Ability to prioritize and multitask;</li><li>
Willingness to work at any center due to a staffing or center emergency or reduction of work.</li><li>
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) by the Maryland Board of Nursing.</li></ul><div></div>
Salary Range: $20.00 - $23.00, depending on experience.<div></div><div>

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

<div><div>The responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to, the following:</div><ul><li>
Assisting patients using the kiosk prior to registration.</li><li>
Escorting patients in need of emergency assistance directly to the treatment area to be registered and evaluated.</li><li>
Respectfully handling Physician and Nurse requests in a timely manner.</li><li>
Communicating information about Patient First&rsquo;s billing policies, including insurable and non-insurable charges, as needed.</li><li>
Accurately registering patients in an expedient manner while providing excellent customer service, compassion, and kindness.</li><li>
Verifying all patient demographic, health, pharmacy, and insurance information.</li><li>
Thoroughly answering billing and insurance questions and providing itemized billing statements as requested.</li><li>
Referring billing questions to the appropriate parties as needed.</li><li>
Collecting money and issuing receipts for a patient&rsquo;s visit, diagnostic studies, and supplies as prompted by the electronic medical record system.</li><li>
Discharging the patient and processing incurred charges.</li><li>
Completing all cash management duties to include counting and accounting for money collected at the end of the shift.</li><li>
Receiving, sending, and distributing correspondence as directed.</li><li>
Filing and scanning medical documents and office forms as directed.</li><li>
Completing assigned checklists and Policy Manager tasks within the assigned shift.</li><li>
Answering all incoming calls and distributing messages in a timely manner.</li><li>
Assisting with other assignments as directed.</li><li>
Demonstrating an efficient understanding of the electronic medical record system.</li><li>
Receiving, moving, and stocking ordered supplies.</li><li>
Cleaning the front office work area and other maintenance assignments as directed.</li><li>
Verifying daily reports are run at the end of the day.</li><li>

Patient Service Representative

<div><div>The responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to the following:</div><ul><li>
Following the laboratory&rsquo;s procedure for specimen collection, handling, and processing, as well as test analyses, reporting, and maintaining records of test results; Following the laboratory&rsquo;s quality control policies;</li><li>
Documenting all quality controls activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and maintenance;</li><li>
Identifying indicators that may impact test performance or reporting of test results and either making corrections or notifying Lab Supervisor;</li><li>
Ordering, receiving, and distributing laboratory stock as needed in laboratory and treatment area;</li><li>
Understanding all checklists and being able to perform all duties on the checklists associated with the position;</li><li>
Adhering to safety policies as defined by Patient First and OSHA;</li><li>
Providing positive, warm and friendly customer service in all interactions;</li><li>
Fostering teamwork and a positive, professional atmosphere;</li><li>
Completing other duties as directed.</li></ul><div></div><div>
Minimum education and professional requirements include, but are not limited to, the following:</div><ul><li>
Employee must be at least 18 years of age;</li><li>
High school graduate or equivalent;</li><li>
Keyboarding experience required;</li><li>
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;</li><li>
One year of clerical experience preferred;</li><li>
One year of clinical experience preferred;</li><li>
Minimum 60 semester hours from a regionally accredited college, including chemistry, biology, and medical laboratory techniques, or an Associate degree in chemistry, biology or related science. Completion of clinical rotations in the areas of microbiology, urinalysis, chemistry and hematology; or Fifty week military Medical Laboratory Procedures course and meet qualifications for military enlisted occupational specialty of &ldquo;Medical Laboratory Specialist&rdquo;;</li><li>
Registered Medical Technologists (M.T.) or Medical Laboratory Technicians (M.L.T.) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or other recognized certification agency of medical laboratory professionals preferred;</li><li>
Registry-eligible technologists are encouraged to apply.</li></ul><div></div>
Salary Range: $31.50 - $35.50, depending on experience.<div></div><div>
