<div>The responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to, the following:<ul><li>
Providing quality and rapid lab results involving knowledge of laboratory analyses, proper procedures, work equipment, and safety procedures;</li><li>
Following the laboratory&rsquo;s procedures for specimen collection, handling, and processing, as well as for test analyses, reporting, and record maintenance of test results;</li><li>
Adhering to the laboratory&rsquo;s quality control policies and documenting all quality control activities and maintenance under the supervision of the Lab Technician on duty;</li><li>
Electronically ordering lab, x-ray, and medical supplies as directed;</li><li>
Notifying the Nurse and/or Physician when patient is ready for exam while communicating symptoms and relaying questions about lab or x-ray needs;</li><li>
Adhering to the established corrective action policies and procedures of the laboratory whenever test systems are not within the laboratory&rsquo;s established acceptable levels of performance and documenting those actions;</li><li>
Identifying and troubleshooting problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results either by correcting the problem or notifying the Lab Technician on duty, Lab Supervisor, or Lab Consultant;</li><li>
Receiving and distributing lab supplies as needed;</li><li>
Adhering to safety policies as defined by Patient First and OSHA;</li><li>
Assisting Nurses and Physicians with various forms of patient treatment and care;</li><li>
Handling Physician and Nurse requests with respect and in a timely manner;</li><li>
Fostering teamwork and ensuring a positive and professional atmosphere;</li><li>
Providing positive, warm, and friendly service in all interactions;</li><li>
Understanding and performing all duties as assigned.</li></ul>
Minimum education and professional requirements include, but are not limited to, the following:<ul><li>
Employee must be 18 years of age or older;</li><li>
High school graduate or equivalent. Must have knowledge of laboratory principles, concepts, and methodologies sufficient to perform waived testing;</li><li>
Ability to produce rapid, reliable, quality laboratory results during periods of high volume (100 or more patients per day);</li><li>
Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and take initiative based on varying volume and dynamic situations;</li><li>
Knowledge and skill sufficient to use and maintain laboratory instrumentation;</li><li>
Proficiency in performing venipuncture, finger stick collections, and drug screens;</li><li>
Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time (possibly 4-7 hours at a time);</li><li>
Must be able to lift moderately heavy to heavy items (20 to 50 pounds);</li><li>
Willingness to work at any center due to a staffing or center emergency or reduction of work.</li></ul>
Salary Range: $21.50 - $24.00, depending on experience.

Lab Assistant

<div>The responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to the following:<ul><li>
Locating patients, obtaining accurate vital signs by visual and auditory measures, triaging patients, assessing patients&rsquo; medical condition, and preparing patients for physicals and medical treatment by Physicians and Nurses;</li><li>
Understanding and using the electronic medical record system;</li><li>
Ordering lab, x-ray, and medical supplies as directed;</li><li>
Notifying the Nurse and/or Physician when the patient is ready for exam while communicating symptoms and relaying questions about lab or x-ray needs;</li><li>
Assisting Nurses and Physicians with various forms of patient treatment and care;</li><li>
Handling Physician and Nurse requests with respect and in a timely manner;</li><li>
Performing lab duties as assigned;</li><li>
Performing phlebotomy procedures;</li><li>
Sterilizing and setting up instruments;</li><li>
Receiving and storing supplies; restocking treatment rooms as needed;</li><li>
Reporting to the Charge Nurse before leaving at the end of the shift;</li><li>
Following ancillary guidelines as deemed necessary by the Charge Nurse, Nurse Supervisor, DMS, and Physician;</li><li>
Adhering to established policies and procedures;</li><li>
Maintaining cleanliness of the treatment area and completing biological cleanup in accordance with OSHA guidelines and other maintenance assignments as directed;</li><li>
Washing, drying, folding, and restocking laundry; maintaining the cleanliness of the washing machine and dryer lint trap;</li><li>
Attending staff meetings as scheduled by the Nurse Supervisor or DMS;</li><li>
Operating, using, and maintaining medical and office equipment as trained;</li><li>
Completing assigned checklists and Policy Manager tasks within the assigned shift;</li><li>
Being available to assist as needed, as breaks and mealtimes may be interrupted at any time to provide necessary patient care or to maintain center operations;</li><li>
Fostering teamwork and ensuring a positive and professional atmosphere;</li><li>
Providing positive, warm, and friendly service in all interactions;</li><li>
Understanding and performing all duties as assigned.</li></ul>
Minimum education and professional requirements include, but are not limited to, the following:<ul><li>
Must be 18 years of age or older;</li><li>
Minimum typing experience;</li><li>
High school graduate or equivalent;</li><li>
Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a hospital or physician&rsquo;s office preferred;</li><li>
Ability to hear pages, bells, and phone system;</li><li>
Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time (possibly 4 to 7 hours at a time);</li><li>
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds;</li><li>
Ability to attend scheduled CPR classes and code drills;</li><li>
Ability to prioritize and multitask;</li><li>
Willingness to work at any center due to a staffing or center emergency or reduction of work.</li></ul></div>

Medical Assistant (Phlebotomist)

The responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to the following:<ul><li>
Following the laboratory&rsquo;s procedure for specimen collection, handling, and processing, as well as test analyses, reporting, and maintaining records of test results; Following the laboratory&rsquo;s quality control policies;</li><li>

Understanding all checklists and being able to perform all duties on the checklists associated with the position;</li><li>

Fostering teamwork and a positive, professional atmosphere;</li><li>
Completing other duties as directed.</li></ul>
Minimum education and professional requirements include, but are not limited to, the following:<ul><li>
Employee must be at least 18 years of age;</li><li>
High school graduate or equivalent;</li><li>
Keyboarding experience required;</li><li>
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;</li><li>
One year of clerical experience preferred;</li><li>
One year of clinical experience preferred;</li><li>
Minimum 60 semester hours from a regionally accredited college, including chemistry, biology, and medical laboratory techniques, or an Associate degree in chemistry, biology or related science. Completion of clinical rotations in the areas of microbiology, urinalysis, chemistry and hematology; or Fifty week military Medical Laboratory Procedures course and meet qualifications for military enlisted occupational specialty of &ldquo;Medical Laboratory Specialist&rdquo;;</li><li>
Registered Medical Technologists (M.T.) or Medical Laboratory Technicians (M.L.T.) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or other recognized certification agency of medical laboratory professionals preferred;</li><li>
