This role</b></div><div></div><div><br>
The Staff Software Engineer &ndash; MarTech Systems is responsible for defining the architectural direction and making high-impact technical decisions that will shape the development of platforms for MarTech Systems, which drive global customer acquisition, activation, engagement, and retention.</div></div>
<div><div><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Responsibilities</b></h3><ul><li><ul><li>
Architect and own PayJoy&rsquo;s marketing-technology platforms, including attribution pipelines, tracking frameworks, lifecycle automation engines, personalization systems, and CRM/CDP integrations.</li><li>
Lead medium-to-large, multi-team engineering initiatives end-to-end, including problem definition, architecture design, planning, risk mitigation, execution, testing, deployment, and ongoing monitoring.</li><li>
Make high-impact technical contributions across complex distributed systems, unblocking teams and elevating system reliability, performance, and scalability.
</li><li>Define technical direction, standards, and best practices for MarTech systems, driving alignment across Engineering, Product, Marketing, and Data.</li><li>
Ensure operational excellence by establishing SLOs, improving observability, reducing incidents, managing technical debt, and maintaining high code quality.</li><li>
Represent MarTech systems in cross-functional forums, clearly communicating architectural trade-offs, risks, timelines, and business impact to senior stakeholders while influencing roadmap decisions.</li></ul></li></ul></div></div>
<div><div><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Requirements</b></h3><ul><li><ul><li>
10+ years of software engineering experience, with ownership of MarTech platforms, distributed systems, or large-scale data pipelines.</li><li>
Strong, hands-on experience in MarTech / Growth Engineering, including attribution, event tracking, analytics, marketing automation, personalization, and CRM/CDP integrations.</li><li>
Proven experience working with Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) and Adobe Experience Cloud (identity, audience management, data activation).</li><li>
Experience with Salesforce and at least one lifecycle marketing platform (Marketo or Braze).</li><li>
Ability to design end-to-end architecture, define a technical roadmap, and turn ambiguity into clear, scalable solutions.</li><li>
Hands-on experience with cloud-native architectures, APIs, event-driven systems, and data modeling (AWS preferred).</li><li>
Strong technical leadership as an individual contributor: influence, ownership, and decision-making.</li><li>
Excellent collaboration with Marketing, Product, and Data teams.</li></ul></li></ul></div></div>

Experience integrating CPQ / contract systems (DealHub, Ironclad).</li><li>
Experience building in-house personalization engines or CMS.</li><li>
