Job Overview This is an entry-to-mid-level position focused on supporting all phases of the interior design process, from concept to construction. You will assist our principal designer in translating client needs into functional floor plans, mood boards, materials selections, presentations, and organized construction documentation. We&rsquo;re known for our meticulous attention to detail, excellent client communication, and a collaborative approach we call The PDX Way. We are expanding our in-house design team and seeking a Junior Interior Designer to support our principal designer in bringing beautiful, functional spaces to life.Duties<ul><li>Assist in creating interior design concepts and layouts using software such as SketchUp, Revit, AutoCAD, or Chief Architect</li><li>Prepare detailed drawings, renderings, and presentations</li><li>Collaborate with clients, contractors, and vendors to ensure project specifications are met</li><li>Assist with sourcing materials, finishes, fixtures, and furnishings</li><li>Help maintain and organize client files, spec sheets, and image libraries in JobTread</li><li>Create visually engaging client presentation boards and review with the lead designer</li><li>Assist with jobsite folders and documentation packages (floor plans, elevations, spec sheets, finish schedules)</li><li>Conduct on-site photo documentation and post updates in JobTread</li><li>Attend design reviews, client walkthroughs, and team meetings</li><li>Coordinate with project managers to ensure design intent is carried into construction</li><li>Occasionally assist with showroom visits, material pickups, or vendor coordination</li><li>Stay updated on current interior design trends, color theory, and industry standards to contribute fresh ideas</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>Strong proficiency in SketchUp, AutoCAD, Revit, Canva, or similar</li><li>Strong understanding of drafting techniques, CAD standards, lighting sales, and interior design principles</li><li>Knowledge of construction processes, remodeling techniques, budgeting practices, and contracts management</li><li>Experience with lighting design</li><li>Creative mindset with an eye for detail and color coordination based on color theory principles</li><li>Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment and communicate ideas clearly</li><li>A degree or certification in Interior Design is mandatory for entry-level candidates</li></ul>Who You Are<ul><li>Detail-oriented and process-driven</li><li>Curious, coachable, and eager to grow your design skills</li><li>Able to take initiative and work independently, but open to feedback</li><li>Someone who values quality, accountability, and clear communication</li><li>Excited to be part of a small, high-performing team</li><li>You radiate positive attitude and cheerful energy</li></ul>Job Types: Full-time, Part-timePay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hourExpected hours: 20 &ndash; 40 per weekBenefits:<ul><li>Flexible schedule</li></ul>Work Location: Hybrid remote in Portland, OR 97229
