 QUALIFICATIONS:
 
 Bachelor or advanced degree in Early Childhood Education, or in a related field that is supplemented by 18 credit hours in early childhood education. Have or obtain within three years of hire a valid NYS teaching certificate (birth through 2nd grade or nursery through 6th grade). One year of early childhood lead teacher experience.
 
 
 
 Responsibilities
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Ensure that all children assigned to class are supervised at all times. Perform regular counts of children assigned to ensure that they are all accounted for.
 </li>
 <li>
 Establish and maintain a safe, healthy, learning environment.
 </li>
 <li>
 Advance physical and intellectual competence to promote higher level thinking skills.
 </li>
 <li>
 Support social and emotional development through attachment, initiative and self regulation and provide positive guidance.
 </li>
 <li>
 Establish positive and productive relationships with families.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure a well-run, purposeful program, responsive to participant needs.
 </li>
 <li>
 Collaborate with other staff as appropriate and be responsible for planning, record keeping and observations and individualizations.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure that the sponsoring school district's requirements are met.
 </li>
 <li>
 Report incidents and concerns of child abuse or neglect as a mandated reporter.

 REQUIRED SKILLS:

 Physical Demands:
 
 Able to reach with hands and arms; able to see, speak and hear; able to lift, push and pull. Ability to occasionally life and/or move up to 50 lbs.
 
 Work Environment:
 
 Typical classroom setting. Must be able to handle the stresses of competing, often simultaneous demands.
 
 
 
 Schedule: 37.5 hours/week, 45 weeks/year
 
 
 
 
 Starting Pay Range : $27.27 to $30.60 per hour depending upon qualifications
 
 
 
 
 Location: 175 Hudson Street, Syracuse
